Me and a couple guys started a minecraft server a while ago, and recently decided to get back into the game, but we wanted it to be more RPG-ish, so we added a bunch of mods.
- We have a hunger mod, so that you have to keep yourself full and have to buy food from places
- We have a working economy with money (named Dudditz, movie reference)
- we have a mod called "Towny" that makes you unable to build outside of a town, and you have to belong to that town too, in order to make towns and communities that much more important. You can still gather stuff though
- We also have a mod that spawns a tomb over the place that you die
- We have local chat, so you need to talk to people close to you, otherwise you need to /shout for others to hear you
So we wanted to know if there were any other servers that did this, since most SMP servers tend to just let you go off and build whatever you want, or are we alone?
If you think this is interesting and want to try it out, our server can hold 100 people, so you're welcome to come and play, we also have a ventrilo server, but that can only hold 20 people right now.
If you're thinking on joining here's a few things you wanna know:
- The server IP is mc.bashurverse.com
- Ventrilo info is here
- Use common sense, don't go into other's houses, take things (when seen), ect.
- You have to post here to get permissions
- We are an RP server, so game chat needs to be in-character unless you put [brackets] over what you say
- There are 4 towns, Bashington (ruled by Bashur, population 12), Immenshire (ruled by 4lge (pronounced "Foliage" or "Algae"), population 8), Agnor (ruled by Taxen, population 3) and Hangman's Rest (ruled by Kira, population 3)
- Bashington is a capitalist city, you have to buy and sell things and pay taxes (1 dud a real-life day), if you fail to pay taxes your house gets taken. I belong to this one, I have a dye and leather clothes shop.
- Immenshire is more communist, they share stuff and are considered witches by Bashington since they use redstone (devil stone as we call it).
- Agnor and Hangman's Rest are pretty new and have not been discovered by us yet.
- You have to ask the mayor to join the town, and some make you pay a joining fee (don't worry, you start with 500+ duds and the city needs the money to grow, think buying plots in civ 5 type of thing)
- [IMPORTANT] Paying is not mandatory, but the server runs on donations from people since its pretty costly, so just give a couple bucks (like 2 or 5 dollars or something) every once and a while
