    Everything is modded out to create crazy things, rather than actually survival mode.  It makes the hard items to craft sort of meaningless.

    They aren't really updated enough so I suppose people mainly use them as creative servers. If I recall correctly you cannot die on the mp alpha build yet. Hopefully the big halloween update will add some things.

    Survival sucks, there's all these enemies pestering you for no reason and you can't jump down from your super sized shafts and towers. Makes building stuff a pain in the ass. I hope a plain create mode gets added as part of multiplayer.

    just put some water into your shaft, or a piece of ladder :o

    My doctor warned me not to do that. It could be dangerous. 
     
    Also yeah, I discovered that trick pretty recently handy, but still... I had this game pitched to me as digital legos, so I'm still a bit flabbergasted when actual "gamey" elements pop up, like enemies and death and whatnot. 
     
    The thing is I play a mix of just building and mining. Basically I don't like inventory editing, I like earning all my blocks and tools, however, don't like worrying about falls deaths, enemies, or what have you.

    The game isn't finished yet, but I'm sure he'll fix multiplayer.
