Hey minecraft people, I was wondering what features are in the pc version that didnt make it over to the 360.
Are there NPCs and random villages?
Game » consists of 33 releases. Released May 17, 2009
Well for one thing, an up to date game. The 360 game version doesn't even have a hunger bar yet. The crafting is different, in my personal opinion, worse, but that's besides the point. Mods, texture packs and more options for player skins aren't in yet. Also a much smaller world.
You're going to miss out on 1600 points, plus what was already listed.
You DO get 4 player split screen however

1600 points, is this a minecraft thing or the price on xbox?
1600 points = $20, so its a little cheaper than the PC Minecraft is right now.
There's no reason a computer couldn't run Minecraft, so the only thing I want Xbox Minecraft for is the split-screen, but even still me personally $20 is too much when I got my fill off FortressCraft (a $1 indy game that is basically a clone)
To be the fair the Pc has a Not up to date free Version, although im not sure if they are similar or not in terms of what they have, i just grabed the bought pc version yesterday and it has a bunch of features not seen in the 360 one, aside from generally being much better to handle, im not too much into it so i cant really say what it does and doesn't, but being on a pc and being able to have that Wikia up when i need it is the most important thing for me.
How does multiplayer work on PC anyone is it similar to how you need to set up with IP address rubbish in Terreria?
The only reason to play Minecraft is for the things that have built up around Minecraft.
Paying $20+ for the base skeleton is pretty much a fucking scam.
I think all of these things are eventually coming but for now the differences are..
I could go on for a lot longer but that's most of the big gameplay differences.
Also the Xbox version has a world size (1000x1000) while the pc version is pretty much infinitely big.
Inifinte world size seems like the only thing they won't be able to add eventually.
But on the other hand I'd imagine it's easier to ge a multiplayer game going on 360.
Looking to get myself and a few friends started in Minecraft. If we wanted our own server, we'd need to rent one from a third party or constantly be running it ourselves correct? Would that be a decent reason to get XBLA?
So has Mojang said they will be updating 360 version for free or can we expect some weird DLC later?I think all of these things are eventually coming but for now the differences are..
- Hunger Bar, XP, Enchanting, Potions
- Pistons, Shears, Melons, Stone Bricks, Glass Panes, Nether Brick
- Endermen, Silverfish, Cave Spiders, Villiagers, Mooshrooms, Snow Golem, Magma Cube, Blaze, End Dragons, Ocelots, Cats, Iron Golems
- NPC Villiages, Strongholds, Ravines, Mine Shafts, Rivers, Swamps, End Realm
I could go on for a lot longer but that's most of the big gameplay differences.

XBLA Minecraft isn't even the full release of Minecraft. I know that on the main menu for Minecraft on XBLA there is an option for downloadable content. I hope you wouldn't have to pay for updates. Also, I heard that the worlds are small, which would suck. So it sounds like the only thing going for it is that it has splitscreen and you don't have to pay for a server. For 20 USD, I would skip.
The PC version is superior for the mods, texture packs, and the fact that it's farther along in development when it comes to features. The 360 version has been fine for me so far. The 360 version is much more friendly to new players. Everything is explained well and the crafting doesn't require knowing recipes. It's the only one you can play without needing a copy of the Minecraft wiki in front of you.

Creative mode (I think), skins, mods, texture packs. And "proper" multiplayer servers it seems.
So.... everything that makes Minecraft fun apart from the building.
@Bistromath:
Are you saying that Japanese women have square titties? *transforms into whatever the hell @Hailinel's avatar is called* Nope, these titties aren't square. They're fairly regular breasts.
@Hailinel:
What? It's not like this is the first time I've transformed into a Japanese woman. Hell, I'm pretty sure I've transformed into all the Katawa Shoujo girls.
