I was underwhelmed, actually.

I thought it was stupid, I was already hanging on to the story by a thread but that just killed it for me, I couldn't give two shits after that... to far fetched.

I think the plot's ridiculous. It's trying way too hard and is very under developed.

 We got to the prisoner and Roach slipped and the prisoner reached to pull me up and BAM !! CAPTAIN PRICE IN PRISON CLOTHES LOOKING DOWN AT ME!

I never expected Price to be dead, but certainly didn't know how he'd be reinserted into the story.  It thought this was a perfect way to do that, though I'm not exactly sure how the hell he went from being aided by the same dudes that saved Soap to being in the fucking Gulag.

Whatever, it's fucking Price.

I think Price is now one of my all-time favorite characters. That guy is just too awesome. 
 
Out of curiosity... during that breach, did any of you accidentally shoot him? I held my fire because I wasn't sure who to shoot or what the heck was going on.

Definitely an awesome moment. I definitely yelled some profanities in excitement. 

Seriously, no one saw this coming? The dude's voice actor was on IMDB and this broke about a month ago.

Why is this a difficult concept?

This game had plenty of badass moments where I felt like was playing a Bruckheimer movie. In a certain way I kind of appreciated the pacing of going to the brink of over-the-topness and then dialing it back down to a more realistic tone only to then ratchet it up even further.

I was mad because when we breached through the wall, I shot the guard in the head, saving Captain Price, but then I noticed Price had a chain around the guard's neck and I guess he was mad I stole his kill because he threw the guard at me and punched us both out.  Ugh.

I saw that coming the second we were supposedly busting out a prisoner...because from the trailers they released ahead of time it was entirely obvious Price was alive. They showed him plain as day two times I believe..yes not his face, but no one else wears that hat..so I was convinced he was alive from the start.
 
I just would like a fucking answer as to how he ended up there in the first place, when Kamarov and his men came to help you at the end of Cod4.

I had confused feelings about the situation.... In my mind the most memorable moment in CoD 4 MW was the ending, how you though you're comrades were killed in front of you, end of story but now they go the fan service route of "Hey look who's back its the rather miraculously survived fan favorite Captain Price"... And now the ending of the first game just totally looses it's effect. On the other hand, I was like "MAN IT'S CAPTAIN PRICE FFS". Generally I hate this kind of situations like in MGS4 tons of them and if Halo 4 would come in the future and feature Master Chief still asleep rescued 1000 years later by someone and so on... Sometimes great characters just need to die for sake of storytelling.

Unfortunately, that part was spoiled for me. I overheard he returns in Modern Warfare 2, and then hearing my brother (who had played through the game a few days before I did) tell me that there was an incredible "prisoner rescue mission", I put the pieces together by the time I reached that point in the game. Thought it was still a cool scene, but it didn't have the same impact that it should have. Kind of a bummer, too. Sounds like one of the most awesome moments in the game.

I simply jumped up, pointed heavily at the screen, and yelled "SHIT JUST GOT REAL, SON!".  It was totally worth it to have five people looking at me oddly.
