How could a video game break a console, somebody please enlighten me. Ever think that MW2 is just super popular, and rightfully so most PS3 owners have the game. When millions of people are playing the game religiously and the console finally decides to throw up the red flag, of course they will blame the game. This happens with the 360 all the time, especially with big releases.

I think it is because people are actually playing their PS3.

Its not the game. Its just that it so happened to be that game in the console. 
In my case, Demon's Souls was the culprit by your "idea". 
 
The problem is that given the popularity of the game, there is a high chance that you were playing that when it crapped. I have a pal with 300 hours on MW (I already told him to get his mind check) and his console crapped while playing it. 

People are probably playing it a shit ton more than normally and it's breaking their consoles.

obviously its all a conspiracy, and there's a virus that infects PS3's. I blame the devs, they have something against sony.

Usually, when this type of question is asked the answer is "no".  I think the only case of this that was proven slightly true was the NXE causing old Xbox 360s to get the RRoD.

Everytime a big game comes out, and people's ps3's die people just jump to conclusions and blame the game. Same thing happened with WaW, KZ2 and others. If you still have a launch ps3, then it's just a matter of time before it gets the ylod like the rest of them, unfortunately it's just happening when you're playing mw2.

This is obviously fake. PS3s don't break.

I don't think so. Having said that though my PS3 just crashed when I was playing MW2. It's working fine now though.

My PS3 seems to be doing fine.

I heard about this too and the first thing I thought was that it's just a major increase in the number of people playing on their PS3. Therefore, there would also be more PS3s failing.
