Not only is there a basic capture the flag absent , but there are only a few weapons that are horribly unbalanced and the lag is fucking terrible. If the next COD just had campain mode and no multiplayer, it would be the best in the series.

You're kidding, right?  Call of Duty has ALWAYS been more about its multiplayer than its single player...and the single player of Call of Duty has always been leagues above the rest of the industry!!!

I rarely ever have a lag problem with their MP games.  Extremely rare.  The weapons are fine.  Every weapon has a counter and fast players win no matter what they use.  Speed and accuracy beat all.

But the good players never complain either.  Only the losers to that.

I agree. If you look beyond the "Look at meee i r badass marine POWPOWPOW" and the shitty ranking system to keep their players happy and grinding it is just a terrible multiplayer game. Couple that with an incredibly poorly designed veteran mode and this game is......... icky

IW does it very well. CTF is not the be-all-end-all gametype, and just because there were some balance issues doesn't mean they can't fix them. You make no sense.

Yes I agree with you, really all of these people copying there perk system and the fact that people still play CoD4 after 2 years online proves your point.

Even if the Next COD was MP only I would still drop 60$ for it. It is that good.

The multiplayer was the reason I played the game.

I WISH they would make a singleplayer focused Call of Duty. The campaign on COD4 was at times very amazing, but others very poor and far to short. Some of the sequences like the slow-mo handgun fight on the bridge, the realistic sniping segment, and the nuke proved they have true talent, but they focus far to much on multiplayer. 

It could matter less when people make threads saying the next <insert a popular MP game here shouldn't have multiplayer> because regardless of your opinion it will have multiplayer...and will forever have it. They will never downgrade something. IW doesn't know how to do it? I guess that's why their perks have been copied hugely since they made Cod4. Even before that, Cod2 was great as well.

They have had CTF in their games previously....they chose to leave it out of 4 for some reason, I don't know why...but you named that as a bulletpoint for a reason they shouldn't have multiplayer. It makes no sense whatsoever. If you don't want to play the MP in the next CoD...don't play it. Simple as that.

If you REALLY want a SP focused CoD, I guess it would be acceptable for them to make it and then have multiplayer as DLC.  It would still disappoint a lot of people, but hey.. at least it's there.  :P

However, the MP is what the majority (if not everyone..) really plays CoD for.

I like the multiplayer, but I LOVE the CoD series' campaigns. They are what drew me in to the series in the first place.

I just got COD4 a few days ago and sometimes I feel like hating the multiplayer too but when I'm not pissed it's because my team is doing good. I suggest you find some better teammates.

I never played the single player portion of the game just because the online is so damn awesome, and I have played through the single player in previous iterations of the series numerous times. So, ya, a multiplayerless CoD would be the stupidest thing ever. EVER.

I will never trade-in COD4, i have finished single-player a few times but it's the MP that i keep it for.
If COD4:MW2 includes all the maps from COD4 i might think about getting rid of it..... but by that time it will be pretty much worthless as the trade-in market will be flooded with copies.

I agree, the multiplayer for CoD4 is very imbalanced in its design. The maps carry no areas for team work association, every perk is useless except for Stopping Power and Juggernaut, M16 is too accurate and powerful, and the prestige system is stupid and shows signs of laziness from the developer.

what the hell are you talking about?  COD4 has one of the best multiplayer ever.  It's good because it's simple it doesn't add needless things like vehicles, or crazy gametypes.  At the same time it's also really deep with the perk and class system, and the prestige ranks.

I'll agree it gets lag, and un-balanced weapons. The main thing I hate though to be honest, is if the host quits the match ends. That's just fucking stupid. However, not having multi-player in a CoD game just wouldn't happen, although I wouldn't care if they didn't include it in future games.

Pretty much all standard FPS will have multiplayer, so wishing or suspecting that the next Call of Duty will not have it is pretty stupid, not to mention dumb seeing how it features a great MP.

You can go and play some other game if you don't want to play COD. There are some things that you can't change in a game.

Dude, you have to be kidding. I recently started playing CoD 4 online again and even though CoDWaW has extra modes (says as if means nothing) I still get more joy while playing CoD 4 online (not really sure why) because of the map design and i'm a time period whore.
