Well a lot of stupid things came into Modern Warfare 2. I remember all these kids talking about dual-wielding, nukes, throwing knives, etc... and they all ruined the game. Developers shouldn't listen to their fans after they make an awesome game since most of the time it turns out to ruin the game.
I know this may not be stupid, but absolutely necessary. How about a matchmaking system that places players against opponents of similar skill? I can only imagine what its like for someone new to the game. Oh wait I can. 0-16.

Spawning on teammates, removal of half the killstreak rewards, including the nuke. A.I. controlled air support is lesser accurate. Grenade launcher reduces health only by 50% unless its a direct impact, like into the body. Removal of perks such as Danger Close and Stopping power, so that all weapons do the same damage regardless of perks. Knife counter i.e. if you're face to face and hit the melee about a second before the other guy has you counter it. This one seems quite impossible to pull off due to latency, but still, if it's implemented and works, should be cool. Emphasis on assisting and not just killing, getting a little more points for assists than before. More recoil for guns. Making the secondary weapons only pistols again. Last stand should go as well, and exist only as Final Stand. Akimbo weapons should be made a little more accurate, however they would restrict you from a secondary. Shields should let you blind-fire while equipped. Also, reduced shotgun radius.
They ruin objective based games, like Domination for example, you can spend the whole game capturing flags and what not, only for dude on theirs to get a nuke and win. Which is hardly fair considering you can normally guess where the players are standing. I.e. They enemy is taking C *Nukeplayer1: I'ma fire some nades at C and see what happens*

But it's not like they are common enough to be an annoyance.
