With the uncertain future of Captain Price being given no real guarantee, what do you think will happen?
Did he just die?
Will he live?
Will he come back as another incarnation of himself?!?!?!
I think I have to stop there...the thought of a future without Capt. Price makes me all teary-eyed :(

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Game » consists of 22 releases. Released Nov 10, 2009
The sequel to 2007’s wildly successful first-person-shooter Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 continues the story of American and British soldiers fighting Russian ultra-nationalist forces.
The Future of Capt. Price.
Soap survived did he not? I would expect seeing how a few of his superiors died he is in position for striking at a promotion.
"Soap survived did he not? I would expect seeing how a few of his superiors died he is in position for striking at a promotion."Yep, though I guess we should have marked *SPOILERS* Soap is the only one that survives. And the Russian guy who rescues him, but I can't remember his name.
"I get the feeling Price will return, no one saw him actually die. All we saw was a Russian Army Medic performing CPR on him before the camera panned upwards. We don't know what really happened to him, i can imagine he will return, its like a running gag now."If he does not return, i will not buy the game. Why? Because i can.
"Hamz said:Haha. Exercise your right! I'll buy it and undoubtedly enjoy it, but Captain Price coming back would be a big morale booster. Of course....Griggs and Gaz are DEFINITELY dead...so that's depressing anyway. I'm sorry if those are spoilers to anyone, but if you haven't played through COD4 by now and are looking on the forums of the sequel..then you can't really get mad."I get the feeling Price will return, no one saw him actually die. I hope he does come back. Not to mention that Billy Murray, the actor who did his voice, is doing nothing besides insurance adverts these days.
Even if it's not the same Price, there's been a Capt. Price in every Infinity Ward-developed Call of Duty. They won't break the streak now.
Price already died once in WW2 and still managed to get into the SAS half a century later. I'm sure he'll be in the next game.

I'm pretty sure that that Price is dead, but as many have stated there'll probably just another dude named "Price".
I'm not a huge fan of making speculations, but I have a feeling that you will see 3 continuations of events... Captain Price surviving, something having to do with the epilogue, and the Russians. I have a hunch that Modern Warfare 2 will be about the 2nd Cold War. This is all just speculation though.
It really depends if they are going to continue with the story line. Yeah I know it is called "Modern Warfare 2" but we will just have to wait and see. But for the sake of getting a point across and not just using up a post...I will give my opinion. Captain Price is one of those video game characters that people like to see in the game, even if their being in the game doesn't make sense. In Call of Duty, if you play that undercover battleship mission through, and don't bother going back to check on ol' cappy, you assume that he died. But if you actually go back to where you left him off, you see him dead on the floor. But then again you see him in Call of Duty 2, in Africa. I don't think the guys at Infinity Ward really care about the little problems in the story line such as having a dead character back to life. But on the other hand, I think that they are getting to a more serious and realistic view of the game... so they could possibly try to find someone from the previous COD games to fill in. Such as Private Elder from the first Call of Duty, or Macgregor (Spelling?) From the second one.
Basically, if Infinity Ward wants to keep the serious tone of the first game and stretch it out into the second one, they will not have Cpt. Price in the second game to keep the game from losing that sense of "seriousness". If that makes any sense... I mean, did anyone else feel that shiver down their back at the end of Call of Duty 4? No? Well, I did.
The guys at Infinity Ward know what they are doing, so it will be interesting to see what happens.
According to my friends, everyone died except Soap. I couldn't see it all, but I think their right. And they kind of shook their head at Captain Price, when they checked his pulse.... So I dunno.
"They don't need Price. Just bring MacMillan out of retirement. "Ahh, now there's an idea. Of course, on the "Blackout" mission, if you snipe some of the far off russians on from the first ridge, Price says "...McMillan would be proud" kind of insinuating he died. But that, of course, is pure speculation.
"Does this have to be a direct sequel to CoD4? As far as I'm aware the CoD WWII games don't follow the same squads/characters through different games, and I would have thought that CoD:MW2 would do that too."Just because the others didn't, doesn't mean that they are incapable of creating a good sequel. The CoD4 campaign was, awed by a lot of people, why not have a sequel if it's just as great, if not better.
Personally, I hate that IW is going to rehash Modern Warfare...but then again, they did two WWII games, so I guess it's whatever.
"those muttonchops surely have some sort of magical power ..."I think you may be on to something.... Maybe they'll let you touch them...Mmmmmm.....
"Personally, I hate that IW is going to rehash Modern Warfare...but then again, they did two WWII games, so I guess it's whatever.I thought about that too. That would have been cool. What happened to just being "Call of Duty 6" though? *ugh* I mean, I know that IW will make a good game, but I was really hoping for a near future type of game like 2142."
But anyway, I wouldn't be too surprised if Price made some kind of heroically badass return halfway through the game or something. As long as the mutton chops return with him, I will be content.
"Personally, I hate that IW is going to rehash Modern Warfare...but then again, they did two WWII games, so I guess it's whatever.uh It SHOULD have been called Call of Duty 5, calling it six made no fucking sense. Calling it 6 would be stupid because there was never a 5. i'm glad the just took this easy route and named it COD:MW2What happened to just being "Call of Duty 6" though? *ugh* I mean, I know that IW will make a good game, but I was really hoping for a near future type of game like 2142."
"Yeah, this is a confusing series.... Can we just have one developer please?"lol...oh that's impossible now that the lines between Treyarch and IW are blurring as far as what puts their COD games apart. Well...except for IW having better story...and being Modern Warfare. What i definitely DON'T want is a Modern Warfare 3 by Treyarch..actually I want a future game by then. Let Treyarch do Vietnam or some other conflict from the 20th century.
"EvilTwin said:I thought the rap in the end implied that he had retired, but I can't remember the exact wording."They don't need Price. Just bring MacMillan out of retirement. "Ahh, now there's an idea. "Captain Price will return... AS A NAZI ZOMBIE!"A zombie would be cool.... but it's more of a Treyarch thing....
"I think there should be like a brother or something for Price so the family name can still be in the war.."That would just annoy people....
I hope he returns, I really hope he does. He's such a appealing character for me, and many others I imagine.
"The story of Modern Warfare 2 is the exact same as the first one, but with an all zombie cast."No, no, no. Infinity Ward is designing this one.RHCPfan24 said:
"I am just looking forward to mini-Captain Price, his son or whatever. Soap will now be older than Capt. Price and the little Price will be the cursing, Scottish character everyone loves."I don't want to listen to his son, I want Macmillan and Price to have a full grown baby and that'll be our new captain.
the chances are that his dead..
but i like to see soap again and the return of are good friend McMillan!
Forget Captain Price. There will be no more Gaz! SADFACE!
But yeah, I hope he makes a return in the next game.
