    I just don't see it

So this is a less-positive review than most of the other reviews of the game around here. I've had the game since November but obviously haven't been on here that long lol. Anyways here we go.

    Story:
One of the lesser things in my opinion about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is the story. 3 years ago Call of Duty 4 gave us realistic but fictional(aside from the setting) and is on part with a realistic war movie(a good one.) But Modern Warfare 2 swtiches to a much less believable(though some things not impossible) storyline. I like to call this the Michael Bay routine(though i do like some of this movie, Transformers, Bad Boys, Armageddon etc.) switching all story to over-the-top action. If the hadn't been connected to Call of Duty 4 i would've been less negative about it, but to me it is a fact that to me such a radical storyline change doesn't work for the franchise, considering the storylines of the previous games.

    Gameplay:
The gameplay of the game hasn't changed a lot since COD4, essentially everything about the basic gameplay is the sameaside from some additional weapons and some vehicular gameplay. The basics are there. The levels play through smoothly, though some levels like the levels in Rio De Janeiro can be very hectic on the harder difficulty settings. But one of the things that i personally don't like it that you can basicly run right through some levels with the slighest bit of ease without getting hurt by the bulletstorm the enemy unleashes against the player, making the flow of the game sometimes a bit out of pace, which i think is definitly a downside about the game. For the rest i have nothing to add about the singleplayer campaign.

The multiplayer gameplay differs a bit from the singleplayer routine awarding the player with killstreak awards. The main idea is good, this was proven in Call of Duty 4, but in Modern Warfare 2 this system has become entirely unbalanced. Imagine 6 helicopters shooting at players at the same time and killing you with the slightest of ease, that's Modern Warfare 2 for you.  However that's not the biggest problem with this mode, the biggest problem is campers. This problem is very well known to shooters, and certainly wasn't as big of a problem when the game was first released in November. After a while half of the online sessions has been filled with tons of shooters, essentially players with weapons(a big number of these being snipers) sitting on one place the whole session waiting for innocent players to walk by and get killed. To snipers this hasn't always been a problem since the weapon is basicly meant for the tactic, but the maps of the game basicly make it possible to camp on any map at any time with any weapon, making it quite stressfull for players in the open. The rank system is worked out well, and isn't much different from COD4 so nothing much to add about this.

A nice addition to the game is the co-op mode named "Spec Ops". This mode consists out of many special levels that can be player in co-op mode either locally or with players through Steam, PlayStation Network, Xbox Live or regular PC connections. You are rewarded with up to three stars based on your performance and/or the difficulty level you are playing on. Most of the levels are based on the singleplayer, and a few levels based on Call of Duty 4.(Namingly the Russian sniper level.)
The co-op mode is a very welcome addition to the series but campaign co-op would've been nice since a big part of the game is squad-based either directly or from a distance(namingly Soap giving instructions to Roach in the snow from a distance.)

    Graphics:
The graphics haven't changed much since Call of Duty 4. Aside from certain lighting and texture improvements the difference is minimal, basicly running on a slightly changed version of the usual COD graphical engine. Certain key moments do seem epic when you see them on screen, for example the burning white house scene during the Washington levels, though for a next-gen based games it isn't entirely on par with other multiconsole next-generation games and could've been taken a bit further, even if it was just some polishing up of the state the game was released in. Even so the game certainly does not look bad, and you won't have much time to enjoy the scenery anyway when your shooting terrorists.

    Sound:
The sound overall is pretty nice, the sound effects sound clear and for the most part the guns sound like they actually would, aside from a few minor hiccups that i've heard pointed out by a specialist, though minimal and most people won't even notice it because a big part of us never actually held every single weapon in their hands, aside from possible an actual soldier, though still even then every weapon propably wouldn't have been held once. The soundtrack is quite amazing, but in the game you only hear it when the game deliberately moves it in the front on certain key moments. If you truely want to appreciate the full soundtrack and hear it's entire being i recommend either buying the official soundtrack or looking for the much bigger rips of the entire game soundtrack(this is what i listened to) since the official one lacks a lot of songs.

This was my review of Modern Warfare 2, i hope the readers appreciated my reviews and even the people more positive about the game understanding the stuff i mentioned. Though the game is still fun, though personally i find it quite stressfull, but i can handle stress pretty well, i think :p Have fun playing and maybe i'll see some of you on the online battlefield sometime.

      Surprising small things 0

If it's possible Modern Warfare 2 took me by surprise.    For a bunch of reasons I just didn't have very high expectations for this game.  The reviews bashed the single player, I wasn't the biggest fan of Infinity Ward's last offering and thought it to be greatly overrated.   The single player for this game turned out far better than I was expecting.     The story was crazy--but to be honest that's kind of fine by me.  I kind of like that it's got that ridiculous quality that a lot of action gam...

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 0

Or just Modern Warfare 2, as Infinity Ward clearly wanted to call it from the fact that the words "Call of Duty" don't appear anywhere in the game or on packaging for special editions. MW2 is the follow-up to the last game the series' actual creators made two years ago, and picks up five years later. The fate of a few characters is left up in there, but main protagonist Soap returns as a grizzled veteran with a voice (Kevin McKidd's) of his own, taking Price's place as ally in the field and f...
