GB member @l1ghtn1n is putting together a PS4 MKX tournament for the weekend of May 2. All skill levels are welcome, make sure to check out his thread for info and how to sign up here!

If you have a copy of MKX on PS4 post your PSN ID/region and I'll keep track of everyone here. The game is region locked for netplay, meaning you can only play against those in your region. Also a good idea for connection sake to seek out those closest to you. I'll try and set up some community casual sessions in the future.

Feel free to talk about anything MKX here. Since MK appeals to a large audience I'm interested in hearing what people think. Who are you planning on playing? How do you think the game looks? Are you interested mostly in the single player modes, human competition, or a mixture of both? What's your history with MK and do you play other fighting games? Do you think Predator is awesome?

I played Shang Tsung, Sindel and a bit of Mileena when I was into MK9. In MKX I plan to play Mileena at the start. Shinnok looks cool (never thought I would say that.) Some of his variations remind me of Shang Tsung. Of course I'll check out Predator and maybe some other characters. This game has a ton of characters out the gate and with each having 3 variations the options for creativity seem really interesting.

One thing I still think MK does better than any other FGs is single player modes and story. In any other FG I usually jump straight into training mode and netplay but with MK9 and now MKX I can see myself enjoying a lot of the single player content.

I'm... not good at fighting games, despite my long history with MK. Expect very little challenge from me.

I'm not the type to main any characters, but if I do try to actually get decent with a character at some point, it'll probably be Jason. Or D'vorah. ... Or Sub Zero.

... Or Erron Black.

Plan on playing mostly with friends on the couch and against the computer to get better. This is the first Mortal Combat I'm really jumping into but I think I'll give Erron Black a shot at my main. That dude looks wild.

The way I do fighting games is I really just play everyone, cuz I get bored of non variety. My initial biggest interests at the moment however, are the dude(can't remembe rhis name...) who is the big ogre looking guy with the little girl on his back, and Cassie Cage first off.

With no Smoke or Noob Saibot I'm probably starting off with Mileena. I do want to try Erron Black though, dude looks awesome.

I never had a "main" in MK9 (though I remember enjoying Kung Lao), but I got WAY into the big grappler dudes in Injustice so I'm leaning heavily toward Ferra/Torr for MKX and will probably give anyone else with a grappler variation a fair shot. Also that one variation of Shinnok's with the Aquaman scoops is tempting as well.

No idea who I'm playing. Last MK game I played was MK4.

Waiting to hear how the netcode is, but Erron Black looks too cool to ignore...

Looking at the competitive bit, but I love everything about MK, so it depends on whether I get a good group to play with. PSN ID is hasibd - used to main Sektor in MK9, loving the look of Takeda and Liu Kang in the new one. That's the plan, though I don't think I've ever stuck with the plan for a main in a fighting game.

I mostly play with friends but I don't mind getting rekt online if I know it's at least by a fellow duder. I haven't looked at the roster yet but I was pretty decent with Johnny Cage, Scorpion, Cyber Sub-Zero, and Kung Lao in MK9.

I played a little bit of 9 and loved what I played. I'm not very good at fighting games but I have always liked MK. I'm getting the collectors edition of X, I'm mostly interested in the singleplayer modes and I'll be playing versus with my girlfriend but I would definitely be interested In playing with duders from here.

Always been a big fan of MK. Played mostly as Cage, Sonya, and Cyrax in MK9 so Cassie Cage seems to be a character made for me. Erron Black looks great, Takeda could be a fun mix of Scorpion and Kenshi.

I got really into MK9. My mains were Johnny Cage and Kung Lao but I also used Sektor and once I got the MK fight sticks Sub Zero.

Im very much looking forward to this game, more so than any game in a while. I will probably burn through story mode then do practice mode with AI turned on so I can just practice a character with infinite health for like 20 minutes at a time. Then onto online/playing versus local with some friends.

Not a huge fighting game guy, but I have been on board with everything NR's has done since MK9. The single player's in both MK9 and Injustice were so fun. They also made for good splitscreen.

This MP sounds actually sounds interesting, PSN Name is SSully. I am partial to Subzero and Jax myself.

I played the shit out of MK9, though I'm not very good at fighting games. I mostly played Smoke, Ermac, and Sub-Zero in MK9, but a lot of the characters in MKX look awesome.

Don't know why I keep throwing my name into these things, I love fighting games but never have time to play them. Also my internet is the assiest of ass.

I will be trying to get back into combo videos though. I did a series of them for MK9 on the now defunct Whiskey Media Fight Club channel and it was a ton of fun. Got a new capture card and everything. Not sure who I'm going to start with although some people suggested Mileena and Reptile so that seems like as good a point as any.

I'll probably start with Kitana and Reptile, because that's who I used most in MK9. After that, I have no idea. I'm not really up to speed on the cast. I tend to prefer defensive/zoning characters in FG's.

This is the first game to come out that actually makes me want to get a PS4. I know theres a PS3 version but scaled down ports are icky.

Don't forget the online play is region locked so US can only play US etc so maybe ask for region as well.

I always try to main a fairly wide selection of heroes in fighting games. Nothing's as boring as folks who just repick the same kharacter every damn round.

I'll definitely be playing a lot of Sub Zero, Kenshi and Scorpion. I'll have to try the others before I can say with any certainty, but Takeda and Erron Black both seem pretty damn cool, and I really like Jonny Cage's standard moveset from what I've seen. I'm also really curious to find out what Tremor's deal is.

MK 9 was good but the net code really turned me off from online play but I hear things are good so far with X, so heres hoping!

I plan on playing as Cassie Cage (as well as Johnny). The game looks great, doesn't really change it up too dramatically (except for the fatalities. They really went for it on some of those). I'm gonna try and get more online time this go around. Normally, I just play single player and local but this time I'm gonna really give online a shot. I've been playing Mortal Kombat since the first game. I remember the first time I played it, at my local pizza place and it blew my mind. I play Street Fighter, but not as serious as I do with MK. And yes, Predator is awesome. While I'm talking about Predator, Predator 2...good movie. Think it gets a bad rap.

I've played in the arcades with Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat. I had the strategy guide as a kid, Mortal Kombat II on SNES, and I've owned all the games except a few of the non versus fighting games on PS2 and Xbox. I also saw all the movies. I was a fan carrying around my Namco coin belt holder at Aladdin's Castle and playing MK3 at Casa Bonita. It's been a fun ride along the way.

I'm not a fighting game person. Only series I kinda like is DoA and that's a different kind of fighter. I played a little Mortal Kombat as a kid on the SNES but it wasn't something I was good at. I did think it was cool though. And I have a copy of MK3U for SNES still. I also liked the MK Annihilation movie, just because it was so cool seeing the characters represented.. sooo >:P

Everyone talks about MK9 having been like, a good game. Actually, I think I got MK9 on Steam for $5 and never played it..

I'm feeling emotionally vulnerable and slightly bored.. intrigued.. I don't know. Probably wait to see GB footage to decide if I want to persue it..
