    SON OF A MOTHER*&%%#( B*^(& A$$ CO(( SUCKING MOTHER*%(*)^(!!!!!!!!

...had to get that off my chest.

Alright, so I'm at what I'm just assuming is the last fight in Mortal Kombat's Story Mode, with Raiden facing Shao Khan on the rooftop. And he's kicking my ass. Easily.

No matter what I throw at him (Raiden included), I can't even get a round win, let alone win the fight. Thus far, I've tried these strategies.
    • Balls-to-the-wall offense
    • Backing away and spamming lightning
    • Backing away and waiting until he moves at all, then teleporting behind him and uppercutting
    • Turtle, then uppercut
    • Spamming flight
    • Throwing my controller across the room

All over the course of what feels like 25 matches or so. I more or less breezed through this game up until this point, and while I may not be anywhere near the best MK player, I can certainly hold my own. I think.

    Any tips?

Have you tried at an easier difficulty level? There's no shame in changing the difficulty level! Plus it suppose to get easier with each retry!

I would stay away and wait for his taunts then attack. And duck when he does projectiles.  He is pretty tough, hang in there. lol

I'm guessing that, aside from jumping or teleporting, there's no blocking his Sledgehammer throw?

dude...I was right where you were like an hour ago...for an hour sooo dumb. But try just regular blocking until he attacks (jump over the obvious thrown hammer) stay close (while blocking) and do the a,a,b combo, until he is dead. When you get him in the corner you can double up on it (because it juggles) but something i learned is he NEVER grabs, also when he does his X-ray move if you're in as close as i'm thinking then he'll jump over you.

So just stay blocked, as close as possible, after every move he does a,a,b. and do your x-ray sparingly but when needed.

    hope this helps.

I suggest when he throws the hammer that you teleport behind him and do the torpedo move.

The only three moves you should do are teleport, uppercut, and his charge. Teleport behind him when basically he does anything and uppercut him. Charge him when he taunts. Save your meter for enhanced charges. X-Rays are worthless.

That's how I beat him, at least.

Jesus mother-fucking Christ, this is such a hard fight.  I'll try out these strategies, but I even put it on beginner and he's STILL fucking ridiculous.  Talk about cheap...

This is what I did as well. I'm pretty much a beginner and still sort of suck, but I was able to beat him. Don't give up, it's annoying as hell, but if you follow these simple steps you'll get there.

In my book, that doesn't make this fight any less annoying.  This is one thing that should stay in the 90s.  (And it's not that it's hard, it's that it's boring and cheap.  It seems you HAVE to resort to cheap tactics to win this damn thing.)

Just finished it after reading this thread. Constant Teleporting. Mostly uppercutted. Almost never used Raiden's torpedo moved. Occasionally landed a combo when I felt cocky. Actually made it out with a Flawless Victory one round.

Needless to say, tackling this fight like any other fight in the game is going to lead to failure. Even on the easiest setting. Shao Kahn just doesn't get stunned, and usually repels sweeps and knockback when you're trying to implement such moves into a combo. Just spam him with teleports and win.

    The ending is worth it.

Finally beat it, but not before Shao Kahn performed a brutality on my left thumb.  I need a PS3 controller with a softer d-pad.

Both fights become a lot easier if you keep your distance and just spam projectiles. As Raiden, keep your distance til he throws either the hammer or spear, teleport, pull off the simplest combo available (while he's in mid animation), and run the fuck away. Good way to run the fuck away is to do an air torpedo and end up on the other side of the screen. If you're gonna try the torpedo instead of the combo after teleporting, take care not to catch up to whatever it was he just threw.
