All that bartering and begging ultimately was pointless in the end, as series honcho Ed Boon let it be known via his Twitter feed yesterday that the first DLC pack for MK would be a collec--erm, sorry, kollection of all seven klassic kostumes--for Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Reptile, Ermac, Jade, Mileena, and Kitana--and the accompanying klassic fatalities--for Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Reptile--would be bundled together into a single DLC pack. No pricing or release date has been announced for the pack just yet, though a trailer for the DLC is expected to drop tomorrow.

Boon likes to tease his Twitter followers with questions about what charact--okay, fine, "kharacters" fans would like to see as future DLC. Blind fighter Kenshi and a new female character named Skarlet are still slated to be the first ones released--with Skarlet apparently coming first--but Boon promises many more waves of additional kontent down the road. So don't worry if you're holding out for an updated version of Rain to fill out the last remaining color of the ninja rainbow, or just really want to play as Meat for some reason. Your day may yet come.

Ugh, I have a Ermac and Jade code for Ps3 but haven't been able to use them yet thanks to the PS Store being down.   Seeing as they are bundling everything these codes are now useless to me.   
 
I'd like to be mad at  NRS for this but this is more Sony's doing then any fault of  NRS.

Any chance I could get one of those free shitty PSP RPGs? I dunno if I have any pre-order codes that unlock minor cosmetic changes to a video game on its eighth sequel lying around, so I would be trading something way less valuable if that's still cool.

I'm not buying anything DLC related till they fix the damn online component. I haven't played that much of it because it's lag-tastic every time I fire it up. It's sad too because WB and NRS were going on about how the netcode was fantastic and how great it would be. I don't have problems with any of my other fighting games, just this one.

I already have MK but I bought the Kollectors edition to sell the Ermac code. Combined with the sale of the game I would have made £££.

I'll be getting the DLC because I like me some fatalities. But I so want MK3 Cyrax and Sektor. 

Yeah! This is awesome. ... I was originally SUPER bummed out when they announced that they were going down the path of exclusive retail pre-order bonuses. But this is exactly how it should all go down post-release. 
 
The "exclusive" pre-order content ... kontent, should always be something that is largely cosmetic and not integral to the experience. Then afterwards they can go ahead and sell it, because again, this is only for people that really want it. You're not missing out on anything if you don't buy it, and that's how it should be. 
 
In any case, good on Netherealm studios. 

I'm not dropping more than $1.99 on this. It's just costumes and fatalities, all pre-made and things that other people have. I hope that the DLC for this game is reasonably priced, not like some of the other recent fighting game DLC.

If the online becomes playable in ranked matches then I will get this, I really want classic reptile kostume.

Of all the Klassic characters I only really play as Kitana and I really don't like her current costumes.  I sometimes do Scorpion.  I will get this no matter what, they all look friggin kool!

This needs to be free!

Lol, sold my Klassic Kitana  PS3 DLC on EBay for $35, right after PSN went down, so the dude hasn't even been able to enter the code for it yet. 
  
Now he'll be able to buy all of them for no doubt substantially less.
