    Overview

Mortimer Rictusgrin refers to himself as a Mimir throughout Planescape: Torment. Mimirs are living silvery or metallic floating skull constructs designed to be encyclopaedias for information. Part of the tattoos on The Nameless One's back, omitted by Morte's initial reading, say "Don't trust the skull." Morte is actually not a Mimir, he is part of the Pillar of Skulls on the plane of Avernus, the first level of the Nine Hells. Liars in life whose lies caused the death of others join the skulls in the Pillar of Skulls in death. Morte is voiced by voice actor Rob Paulsen.

    Weapon of Choice

Planescape: Torment features numerous unusual equippable items such as tatoos instead of armor or droplets of blood instead of potions. However, Morte, being a skull, is limited in the selection items he might equip. For one he is not able to wield a sword. ("Sure, chief, I'll just swing it with my arms!") However, his teeth can be swapped out as equippable weapons and he can use such teeth as those of a fire drake, a viper, or even a fiend. Some equipped teeth may grow in strength and gain new properties as Morte levels up. Humorously, while viewing a set of teeth's statistics, the teeth are all classified under the weapon proficiency "Fists".
