Mother Maiamai

Overview

Mother Maiamai is a character in The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. A large maiamai that lives in a cave near Lake Hylia in Hyrule, she provides Link with the game's primary sidequest. Her babies, one hundred in total, have become scattered across Hyrule and Lorule, and she asks Link to help by locating them and bringing them all back to her. For every ten baby maiamai that Link returns, Mother Maiamai will offer to upgrade one of his subweapons, though the subweapon must be purchased from Ravio, rather than rented. If the player finds all one hundred babies and returns them, Mother Maiamai will thank Link by powering up his spin attack.
