    A mine that can be placed in the world by the player. It is attracted to vehicles, like metal to a magnet. The mine explodes when it comes into contact with a vehicle.

    Motion mines appear in Battlefield 2142 labeled as "II-29". The sniper class is given 5 mines which can be placed anywhere on the battlefield. Damage inflicted by motion mines are lower than traditional mines. This disadvantage is countered by the quantity of mines given to each player, and its ability to lock onto a vehicle.
