A Great Side-Scrolling Racer for your Collection
Motocross Maniacs is one of the gems in the Game Boy library. Similar to Excite Bike for the NES, Motocross Maniacs is a simple, side-scrolling motorcycle platforming game.
The game is very direct and simple. Players can navigate eight tracks, selecting from three difficulty settings. Each track must be completed within a specified time limit, and players collect powerups along the way.
This was a solid game for the original Game Boy. It managed to convey a good sense of speed compared to many other Game Boy racing games, and its simple-yet-challenging levels were quite addictive as players attempted to beat their previous best scores.
