Overview
MultiVersus is a free-to-play 2.5D crossover platformer-fighting game in development by Player First Games, with a planned release by WB Games for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC sometime in 2024. It was originally released in early access format on August 15, 2022, and is currently unavailable to download.
Similar in style to the Super Smash Bros. series, MultiVersus brings together numerous characters and locales from multiple franchises owned by Warner Bros. Discovery, including the overall DC Universe, multiple new and old cartoon series (including Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry, Scooby Doo, Adventure Time, Steven Universe, and Rick and Morty), and multiple movie and television franchises (such as Space Jam, Game of Thrones, Gremlins, and The Iron Giant).
The game is known for its primary 2-on-2 format, with each character fulfilling one of five character classes (a concept similar to Hero Shooters and MOBAs). It also features a perk system and a seasonal pass system.
