It might not be tentacle porn, but it gets me hot and bothered nonetheless! So beautiful.

I always wanted to play a Vanillaware game. I never got myself to pull the trigger. Between Dragon's Crown and Muramasa: Rebirth, there are two great options to get acquainted with their work on the market right now. Their games are never quite a priority for me, so between all the other stuff I play, it's a rather hard sell - but I feel like I simply must play one of their games at some point.

Seeing how Muramasa: Rebirth doesn't seem to get a European release, its window of availability is strictly limited to me importing a physical copy of the game (or jump through hoops to get some money into my US PSN wallet, and wipe my Vita everytime I want to play the digital version of the game - which I don't intend to do ever).

So looking at Muramasa: Rebirth, its 50$ pricetag, and the likeliness that my window of opportunity for playing this game through legal means will be closing anytime now - is worth it? Would you get it, despite not being able to buy the upcoming DLC without jumpring through the aforementioned hoops in regards to a US PSN account? Would you buy it at all? How good is it really? In what esteem do you hold the game?

Convince me one way or another, please.

I played through it on Wii. It's a good game to be sure, and typically Vanillaware: gorgeous and repetitive. $50 is pretty steep, but if you've got money lying around...

Have it on the Wii, so I'm not buying it again. I'd buy it otherwise, it's a great game.

Gosh darn it, doing some more research, there's like tons of stuff on the US PSN store, that I'd kill for. Metal Slug Anthology? Damn. I want that.

Guess the easiest thing would be to acquire a second vita, for my US PSN account. Oh frivolities, how you creep into my brain and nestle there until you hatch.

50$ is too much for any game.

I found Muramasa to be far to repetitive to complete. The boss battles are fantastic but having to run through the same boring areas over and over where the areas were often just a straight line wrecked the game for me.

Does the Vita version correct that? If not then I say "no, unless you have cash to burn, then why not?"

Also @seppli don't you just need a second vita memory card and not a whole new vita for different accounts? Or is there something more to having multiple regions?

Not quite sure, but I think you have to hit *reset to factory settings* everytime you want to switch accounts - whatever that entails. Just swiching mem-cards isn't enough, as far as I know. At least that's what I've read about it online. Never did it, and I don't intend to really. Sounds like a hassle.

The absolute best would be, if Sony would find a way to let any PSN account on any storefront, and add an easy way to convert money in my local PSN store's wallet into currency for a foreign PSN store. Just some no fuss no muss way to get access to the hidden riches on the various global PSN stores. That'd be nice. For example - there's like 3 additional Vanillaware PSP games on the Japanese storefront, which likely might be doable for non-Japanese speakers. Or a great incentive to pick-up the language.

The Vita version is the same as the Wii-version, just prettier (and there's supposed to be some premium DLC coming down the pipes, exclusive new characters and such).

I bought it last week on a PS Plus sale for less than $30.

    U.S.A.! U.S.A.! U.S.A.!

(I think fitty bucks might be a little too much, based on what I've played so far.)

Oh, you mean Muramasa: The Demon Blade the game. I thought you meant High-Frequency Murasama Blade the weapon from MGR. Now paying fifty bucks for that would be silly, as you can just unlock it after beating the game and buy it for only 10000 BP.

I've enjoyed it so far on the Vita. Boss battles are great but getting between them is very time consuming. However I received this as a gift so not having to pay money for it makes it a 1000 times easier to enjoy.

Just to bring this to the attention of @seppli and any others interested, Muramasa Rebirth is now available on the PlayStation Store in Europe (has been since the 16th, in fact). I haven't bought it yet, but might do so soon. Or just wait for it to hit the Instant Game Collection...

I played this game on the Wii back when it first came out and as beautiful as it was there, I could only imagine how great it looks on Vita. The issue is that the game gets really repetitive and it's pretty long, way longer than it probably should be. I never ended up finishing it simply out of boredom. I would say $50 is probably still a bit much.

I paid $40 for the Vita version and loved it. Think I put in around 22 enjoyable hours so it's worth at least that much.
