The largest weapon in modern militrary arsenals. Use missiles, rockets and deck guns as defense weapons and can carry hundreds of combat ready planes and bombers as well as thousands of combat ready Marines. They are known as "Cities at Sea".
Debuting in the first world war, a battlecruiser is a capital warship that sacrifices protection for firepower and speed. Battlecruisers are some of the biggest ships in a navy, topped only by battleships in sheer tonnage.
Battleships are large, heavily armed and armored naval warships, designed both give and take large amounts of damage.
Corvettes are small warships commonly used to patrol coastlines or escort merchant convoys, often with a concentration on counter-submarine warfare. Combining speed and small profile, their lack of heavy armor and armament means that they can choose the time and place of engagement, but often must flee from larger opponents.
Cruisers are larger ships that carry many weapons, typically either high caliber guns or missiles. They are versatile and come in many varieties, such as light cruisers or heavy cruisers.
Destroyers are quick and agile warships that are effective at hunting other ships down, most famously submarines. They are extremely versatile and can be used for a variety of combat roles.
Frigates are the main fighting warships of most fleets. They are relatively fast and reasonably well-armed for their size.
Gun Boat
The LCVP (short for Landing Craft, Vehicle Personnel) was a landing boat used by the Allies in WWII for amphibious assaults.
An explosive device planted in the sea either to float on top or anchored at various depths.
This be a ship owned by pirate scum, usually with skull 'n' crossbones flags and cannons. Arrrrrgh!
Vessel for transportation through water.
Underwater Vessel that first appeared in the late 1800's.
A self-propelled explosive projectile, that is launched above or below the water surface toward a target, and is designed to detonate on contact or in proximity to its target. Commonly used in naval warfare.
Torpedo boats are small motor boats armed with torpedoes. They aim to attack larger vessels through greater speed and manoeuvrability.
