    Overview

Need for Speed Heat is a racing game developed by EA Gothenburg (formerly Ghost Games) and published by Electronic Arts for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.

    Development

On May 29, 2019, EA representatives reconfirmed that a new Need for Speed game would be shipping in 2019. The detail-free announcement was mostly done as a preemptive move to head off questions about the game not appearing at E3 2019.

On August 14, 2019, EA officially announced the game as Need for Speed Heat along with a trailer featuring the series' typical racers versus police theme.
