    EA have their own download service. There's never used to be many, if any EA games on steam. Maybe it was to get the day 1 sales from their own site?

    Probably. Wouldn't let me buy it though due to region issues (currently studying in Japan) so gave up - whereas Steam was nice enough to reroute me to the UK store every time I make a purchase once I emailed customer support to explain my situation. 
     
    Tempted to pick it up now though.

    They had it for pre-order on Impulse if I remember. Impulse has pre-orders for all major EA games and Steam usually gets them the week of release. Steam still doesn't have a DA2 pre-order for example... I just don't think EA likes Steam very much.
