Overview
Nemanja Vidić is a Serbian football player who is currently playing for Inter Milan. He is widely regarded as one of the best defenders in the world and he is most known for his achievements at English club Manchester United, which he captained. He has retired from representing the Serbian national team in 2011, almost 10 years after his debut in 2002.
After being recognised as one of Red Star Belgrade's rising stars during the early 2000s, Vidić moved to Spartak Moscow in the summer of 2004. He signed for Manchester United during january transfer windows for around £7 million and quickly formed a prominent defensive partnership with Rio Ferdinand and earned a reputation for defensive consistency and awareness.
Vidić has collected a host of trophy's during his spell at United, most notable being 5 Premier League titles, the UEFA Champions League, the FIFA Club World Cup and League Cup.
He was also part of the "Famous Four" Serbian national team defence that conceded just one goal during the 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign.
