Overview

New York Mysteries: Secrets of the Mafia is a hidden object game developed and published by FIVE-BN Games for PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Android.

Story

New York Mysteries: Secrets of the Mafia is set in New York City in 1955. As the mafia is trying to take control of the city, five of their bosses have vanished. At each of the scenes of their disappearances there were left behind two things, a butterfly and some strange liquid. It is up to the player to try and solve the mysterious case before it is too late.

Gameplay

In New York Mysteries: Secrets of the Mafia players move between static backgrounds trying to find tools to help the investigation. There are various puzzles and hidden object scenes that must be solved in order to obtain required items.

The game is played using a point and click style using the items in the environments to move past obstacles.

Collectibles

The game contains five different types of collectibles that can be found hidden throughout the games scenes. There are 9 total of each of the collectibles, except the phantom objects of which there are 35 total.

• Poker Chips
• Statue of Liberty statuettes
• Phantom Objects

The phantom objects are items hidden in the scenes that will change their appearance back and fourth between two objects.

Hidden Object Scenes

The game contains many hidden object scenes which must be completed to obtain certain items that are used to solve other puzzles. In this game the hidden object scenes give the player a series of silhouettes across the bottom of the screen. The player must then find the objects that match those silhouettes.

Some items require using other items found to obtain them, such as using a found key on a lock that opens a drawer.
