The game will be out before we know it and I was wondering if like the the madden forum we could get a giantbomb team/league going. there is already a ps3 thread going and  I would not mind doing a xbox360 version.

I've been waiting for a real NHL game for a pretty long-ass time now (since NHL 2002, a.k.a. the best hockey game ever made), but keep getting sidetracked at their release. I bought NHL 2K7 a few years ago, but that was pretty well a throwaway title as it wasn't very good at all and totally glitched out on me in various different ways, including freezing at the post-game calendar midseason, twice, with two different copies (after returning the first to Wal-Mart) and save files of the game. I vowed never to buy another 2K Sports game after that disaster.
 
NHL '10 seems like it fits the bill, especially after my team won the Stanley Cup (GO PENGUINS) and will hopefully be ranked #1 overall (eff off Red Wings). The new fight system looks okay, if not gimmicky; board-pinning looks useful, although I will probably rarely use it, if at all.. but I am most interested in the new (to me) 'Be A Pro' mode and the online functionality. If any of you guys are interested, I would gladly play a few games with/against you, provided you've got an Xbox.

Im a huge hockey fan. Im not a huge hockey video game fan though so I probably won't be buying NHL 10. I am all for just talking about hockey though. Can't wait for the new season to start.

I'm still sulking. Why can't the Sharks ever make it to the Finals... Ugh. Anyways, just waiting for the new season to start.

Loved/love NHL09.
I bought it late and never got in to the online league stuff, by the time I did, I felt like I was totally out of the loop on good teams/leagues.  I should have a copy in hand tomorrow, so if there's any serious interest in a GB team (360) I'd be down for sure.

Giant Bomb isn't a hotbed for sports activity, unfortunately. :(

You never really see a whole lot of sports fans on video game websites, I think. A bit stereotypical, maybe, but true nonetheless. 
 
Anyway, I'm a hockey fan, Blackhawks and Red Wings. Both of which, I'm glad to say, are doing well in the playoffs.
