Overview
Ninja Kiwi is a game development studio and web portal based in Auckland, New Zealand and Dundee, Scotland. The company was founded in 2006 by brothers Chris and Stephen Harris. Ninja Kiwi is most widely known for the Bloons franchise, which began as a flash puzzle game before becoming a successful tower defense series.
Originally, Ninja Kiwi distributed their games via the Ninja Kiwi website, alongside Flash games created by other developers. The website features an account system for players, to track players' in-game progress and purchases. On July 8, 2020, in preparation for the end of Adobe's support for Flash Player, Ninja Kiwi released Ninja Kiwi Archive, a standalone compilation of their Flash titles, with compatibility for the Ninja Kiwi account system.
Mobile
In November 2012 Ninja Kiwi acquired mobile games developer Digital Goldfish. Digital Goldfish had previously developed successful mobile ports of NinjaKiwi games such as Bloons TD 4. The studio is now known as Ninja Kiwi Europe and is based in Dundee, Scotland.
