    And in the year since they wrote that, we've heard nothing.

    Since?, this is new... It takes time to develop something of quality like the last app, especially since Nintendo have their hands full with Wii U.

    It's been there since they enabled DSi transfer, which I believe was when the eShop launched last year. There have been many games released on the eShop and the system software has been updated several times, so I don't believe the Wii U has anything to do with the wait for Flipnote. Nintendo is cabable of maintaining the 3DS eShop while also preparing the Wii U for launch.

    I find it rather annoying that they prevent the software's transfer because of a promise of a newer version, and then we have to wait more than a year to hear anything about it.

    They said they are going to make one for the 3DS eventually. Now it's just a matter of time when they do it.

    @LordAndrew:

    I don't believe that answer came up until very recently.

    I disagree, they've been all hands on deck recently and have even said themselves it's been difficult to manage both platforms. All their development teams are working hard on new software for both platforms, so it's kinda natural an app such as this is delayed when their are far more important things like Nintendo Network to raise.

    There may be technical reasons for why the app isn't available in it's DSi form, Flipnote isn't the only game that's being kept off the store for undisclosed reasons. Also, it's safe to assume Nintendo will have to create three new Flipnote Hatena websites, in addition to creating the software.

    Maybe it wasn't showing on that specific page, but the information displayed there has still been known since last year. Looking now, it was actually first mentioned before the eShop launched. It may not have been an official announcement, but it's disappointing that we haven't learned anything else about it since then. Hopefully we'll hear something new soon.

    Hopefully in December around Xmas time. It's a good preload app for the new XL models that are due then.
