    How do I know if a game saves to SD vs System Memory?

    My 3DS broke, I transferred all my games from one system to another and then threw away my broken 3DS. This was like 6 months ago. I have been randomly playing my Persona game which I'll never beat :( but love and Pokemon Ultra Sun. I had logged about 60+ hours in Puzzle and Dragons (Mario version) on my old 3DS. I was under the impression saved data was on the actual game (like it is for those two games I mentioned) only to find out I have no save data.

    I will not be able to get that data back at this point, I also do not plan to "break" another 3DS but it might happen.... so how do I know so I can try and save my data in the future?
