Scraping the bottom of the barrel, Patrick? This isn't news in any sense of the word. This happens fairly often on Amazon. If enough people complain about a product, they cease the ability to purchase the item until that issue is resolved. For example, if hard drives are being reported as not working after receipt and people say the packaging was poor, they will halt the sale of the item for a few hours or even days while they investigate whether there is really a problem and how they can fix it. This is exactly what you would want from a store. It also happened with the collector's edition hard cover GOTY edition Fallout 3 guide, because they were shipping it in such a way that it arrived with big dents or gashes in the hardcover. Where was the news flash on that?

What Happened Between Nintendo and Amazon Today? [UPDATED]
Maybe because Whiskey Media is Amazon hosted and they want to throw them a bone on occasion. Why is this even a story?
Don't yell at Patrick about writing a particular news story, especially when the same story was on GODDAMNED CNN.
@Torrim said:And LATE, saw this on another site early this afternoon. COPY/PASTE!! COPY/PASTE!! COPY/PASTE!!nope, pat is just doing what he always does...makes news out of nothing.Slow news day?
Bring back Brad Nicholson! No wait, I want my aspergers gamer and Cambodia genocide art game stories!!!
Kidding, kidding. Patrick's awesome!

Slow news week, eh Klepek?
Glad to hear that CNN is reporting about important things like a glitch at Amazon.
Lay the fuck off. It's Monday. At least Patrick is trying to report the news. What have you done?
Woust thou like thine pizzas for carry out or shall I ride forth and deliver them unto you?

perhaps they were being racist? nah...
hmmmm.... conspiracy... you might be on to something...
Nintendo's a company historically known for being pretty easy to deal with when it comes to replacing devices.
No small part of why I fly that red flag. One of my favourite stories is during the heyday of NP Strategy Guides, calling to ask if the pack-in Earthbound guide is available separately from the game. "Well we don't sell it, but I can send you one." Okie doke then!
Then I contrast with my Sega story of trying to order the Phantasy Star IV guide, which is basically a B&W photocopy job. And the hedgeprick on the phone saying it's Sega of A-mer-i-ca, and they don't ship to Ca-na-da.
And that was when I decided Sega must be destroyed. It took a while, but I consider Mario & Sonic a victory.

And how sad it is.
Yeah clearly...it's like everybody has a different opinion and everything...seesh what a world we live in.@Milkman said:

Agreed.
Man, there sure are a lot of angry nerd-ragers on here these days.
Man, between low battery life and this - customer anecdotes suggest it actually is a defect in a significant percentage of units - I'm probably going to pick up Catherine and Shadows tomorrow rather than splurging on a first gen 3DS. At least if I early adopt games I don't have to worry about the hardware working.
I find it ruder and jerk like for these type of "News" appearing....oh excuse me...i must be raging...ill back off now.@Sinful: There is a difference between expressing one's opinion and acting like a jerk. Some on here lack that distinction and are attacking Patrick, that is rude and inappropriate.
@Sinful: I am uncertain whether or not you are being serious. Did I hit a nerve somehow? It wasn't my intent as my words where not pointed directly at you, but at the distasteful sentiment that has seemingly overtaken this tread. I simply desired to post a counter opinion to all of the hate. If you are merely attempting to get a rise out of me then I apologize for wasting your time.
I bought a black 3DS from Amazon.
Not today though.
Just lettin' you guys know.
In case you were curious.
Bye.
You know, just because Nintendo isn't acknoledging it doesn't mean there isn't a problem. Hinge problems and the DS line of products go hand in hand. I now have two different DS models (original and Lite) as a line of reference. Original is completely cracked in half, Lite has an ever expanding hairline fracture.

Fucking Racists.
Wow! What a scoop! Breaking News! Something inane happened, somewhere.This.
This site is getting more like all the others with rubbish stories like this, come on Patrick, this website never used to post such uninteresting banal stories as this, you can (and usually do) do much better.
Sure it's a mundane event that went nowhere, but I think the point of the story here was to clarify what happened because it was something that got picked up by the mainstream media. I remember hearing about it and thinking nothing of it, but it's still kinda good to hear what became of all that rubbish.
