So I have been playing my 3DS again lately and it got me thinking, when was the last time I took a 3D picture with this thing?

So checking out my dumb photos, the last time I took a 3D picture was June 11, 2013. That's over 3 years ago!

I remember when the 3DS first came out, it was fun doing it. I didn't get my first smart phone till late 2012 so I actually used my 3DS, along with my DSi, as my camera of choice for a good chunk of time.

Anyways, when was the last time you took a 3D picture with your Nintendo 3DS?

I used the 3DS camera one time the day I got it and then never again.

I just took a few after opening this thread. Trippy.

It seems like a cool feature, never messed with it much. Also, I'm sad more games didn't find some way to incorporate AR stuff; I still remember the insane opening of that Bravely Default Quick Look.

I can't remember the last time I used 3D with the 3DS period.

Pretty much this until I remembered the feature maybe a few months ago and I took a picture of my daughter when she was playing. I dig it even if the resolution an camera quality is a bit old hat.

I think I did that weird face merge thing once with my roommate, but I don't think I ever used the regular photo mode before.

Whoever owned it before I did really liked it, though.

Speaking of unused 3DS features, the previous owner of my 3DS left its web browser logged into her Facebook account. Couldn't imagine anyone using that browser, let alone Facebook.

Never. I have a 2DS so I could not view them anyway. It still has the ability to take 3D pictures but not view them.

I didn't even know it did that.

I've never used it, hell I barely even used the 3D functionality for games tbh

Wow, this just shows where 3D tv/video/photos went. I remember when 3DS came out there were some cellphones in Japan that also had w/o glasses 3D screens. I still think 3D pictures are a nice idea.

What is odd is that stereoscopic photography USED TO BE extremely popular. Where I work (historic library) we have hundreds of glass-plate stereoscopic pictures from around the world because viewing travel photos in 3d stereo used to be a after dinner past-time in the 19th century. For 70s years, up until the 1980s, the "View-Master" was a popular toy for kids.

The day I bought it, probably. The cameras on that thing are so bad it's hardly worth using.

It's been probably 4 years at this point since I've even opened the 3DS camera app, let alone take a picture with it. Someone from my high school did use a picture taken with their Vita front-facing camera as one of their pictures in the yearbook. That isn't related at all, I just think that's a really funny/dumb thing to do.

Whipped it out at the London 2012 Olympics and took a picture of a door. Something about being a grown man holding up a 3DS in public and taking kind of bad 3D pictures made me never want to do it again.

I got my first 3DS with the first price drop, so I took a photo then. I don't think i've ever used the camera on the N3DSXL though.

never - I did use the camera once checking out that dumb ARGames thing that came on the memory card.

I tried it once on day one and never again.
