I think that they should go back to making stuff like the GBA
Nintendo DS
Platform »
The Nintendo DS is a handheld featuring two screens, one of which is a resistive touchscreen. Four different models are available: the original DS, the DS Lite, the DSi, the DSi XL.
Do you like the touch controls on the DS?
" It doesn't bother me too much and I think some games, like The World Ends With You, do really cool stuff with it. However, whenever a DS game gives me the option to use regular button control, I go with that. "yup, i definitely prefer normal button control
Personally, the touch controls are what turned me off of the DS. Not because they are bad but because only in a few games I have played do they work well. The pokemon games are great since they don't make the gameplay hinge on if you are good with a touchscreen, but it still serves a good purpose. I also loved The World Ends With You's touchscreen combat.
This is coming from someone who hasn't done a lot of handheld gaming since the GBA so chances are I have no idea what I'm talking about.
" I was gunna type out a petition, but this has revealed that too many people like it how it is. "The DS sells millions and millions and millions and millions. Nintendo literally couldn't care less about an anti-touch control petition. In fact, it'd probably just get lost in the huge piles of money they've made on the DS.
" I like them for games meant to be played almost exclusively with them (Elite Beat Agents, Rhythm Paradise etc.) but not when games implement them at random points in game just for the sake of it (like drawing the sign things in Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow). "yes i agree, but having to use it often is just too much
It is great when it works (I couldn't imagine playing Picross 3D without it). The problem I have with Nintendo's platforms is the sheer amount of shovelware that is churned out month after month (I'm looking at you Ubisoft).

Luckily no one is forcing you to buy all the shovelware for the consoles you own. I know I thank karma every day that I don't have to buy Buzz Trivia or Hannah Montana or Rogue Warrior
