So with the 3DS coming out I'm seeing DSis and DS Lites crop up on ebay and amazon at reasonable prices and I'm thinking about picking up a cheap-ish portbale games machine for me to play some real games on. So my question is, what's the real benefit from DSi? Since I'm seeing them gof or £20-£30 more than a DS Lite. All I'm gonna do is play pokemon games, final fantasy games and maybe some mario, would the DSi benefit me at all?

Oh also if anyone in the UK is looking to sell their DSi/Lite for a reasonable price I'm looking for one :P

But if you get Heartgold/Soulsilver or Diamond/Pearl, only the DS Lite allows you to transfer from GBA games to help grow your collection of Pokeymans!

And no, the DSi is essentially  the Lite with cameras, a new interface and no GBA slot.

The only reason to get a DSi over the Lite is for the DSiWare.

Have a look at some of the reviews, if there are any download titles you really think you need then you may as well go for a DSi, but I can literally count good DSiWare games on one hand.

DSi is superior, it's the DS perfected.

If you aren't going to play any GBA games, get a DSi.

It really comes down to whether you'd prefer to play Game Boy Advance game or DSiWare games. If you don't want to play either, just get what's cheapest.

This is the reason I'm hoping to purchase a DS Lite in the coming weeks myself: Game Boy Advance cartridge compatibility.
