    Well, at least I think so. Basically you have your five brightness settings on the DSi, but if you go to the settings of the DSi Sound you can turn off the back light when it idles. 
     
    I'm sure a lot of you guys know this, but my mind was blown thinking of the extra battery life one could get from using this ultra low brightness. 
     
    Also, its almost impossible to use the DSi out in the sun.

    Haha. Yes, when it idles in the DSi Sound when playing music, the screens will go super dim.
