    I was wondering if anyone knows a DS rom patching program I can use to get a few games saving properly on my R4i card. Most games I've played work perfectly but Contra 4, Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2, and Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem won't save properly. Every time I boot them up, they say they're creating a new save file, and stuff doesn't stay saved in the games. I can upload pictures later to show what exactly is going on. It's annoying because it's only with these games.

    If anyone can point me in the right direction or give some suggestions that'd be much appreciated. Thanks!

    If you own the games, just play them with the official card like God intended. If not, I am legally required to shake my head at you.

    They won't save properly because that's what developers do to keep pirates from pirating, you filthy pirate.

    It's out of convenience, that's all. I've purchased the games and it doesn't matter really I guess. Not having to carry around a bunch of cards is a beautiful, beautiful thing.

    Also, lots of DS games are out of print and overpriced used. So...there. I buy any that are still available new.

    @MormonWarrior: Just carry the games you want to play and keep the rest in your collection for later use like a normal person.

    Yeah, but that's not the point of this forum post. Sigh...I knew it was pointless to post it. I want to figure out how to work it.

    If he isn't pirating the games he isn't doing anything wrong.

    Anyway, dunno how to help you, duder. I'd guess there'd be better forums than this to ask the question though

    How about searching for a message board that actually looks kindly to this type of thing? You're only going to be berated and made to look like a bad person here.

    Besides the fact that Giant Bomb does not allow talking about methods for circumventing copyright protection.

    @ApeGantz: Too late.

    Anyway, I just said forget it and I activated cheats to unlock everything in Contra 4 and I'll play the other games the normal way. Also, that's a benefit: easily activated cheat modes. Flash cards are pretty awesome.

    If you like to cheat, apparently.

    I'm talking from a moral standpoint. Rules-wise, if that's the case I'm sure the thread will be dealt with.

    I admit I crack up at people who freak out about this sort of thing (not addressing you specifically, but the overall comments in this thread) - assuming the media was purchased legally, how is this any different than ripping a CD into your media player of choice?

    I'm pretty sure Giant Bomb is pro circumventing copyright protection, just ask Jeff about ripping his DVD library.

    @Tim_the_Corsair: If he owns the games, I have no problem. I suggested using the original cards smply because they will work. If a few games require the card, it's not going to kill him to carry those cards with him. And there are other places he can discuss this where it's allowed and people will be more knowledgable.
