The NES, also known as Famicom, launched in 1983 in Japan and 1985 in North America, where the video game industry was headed downhill due to a deluge of poor games and over-saturation. Nintendo's second home console became an enormous success, establishing consoles as a mainstream market in Japan and pulling the North American industry back to its feet.

With systems being released to the press, I am dying to see a 'tear down' of the inside. I'd love to see what people can work with inside for mods.

What will be interesting is if the PCB shares anything with the NES Top Loader/AV Famicom from the mid-90s? If it a similar PCB, just without a card slot soldered in that would be very interesting. That AV Famicom, the improved Top Loader model, had a pretty small PCB anyway, so while is not likely they share anything, there is still hope.

If in the next few weeks, anyone sees a teardown for the NES Classic add a link.

I'm really interested to see what can be done with/to it. I'll be on the lookout in the future.
