Just wondering what games fans of this console would want if the NES Classic Edition proves successful enough to bring forth a Super Nintendo version.

If you have a top 30 in your lists please post them.

This I suppose doesn't necessarily need to be your top 30, it could be a selection that covers bases and hits the right spots.

Great list. Could not see Nintendo putting AllStars on, they would most likely use individual games, besides some of those games are featured on the NES Classic list.

    Haven't played 19, 24, 25, 27. Don't think Evermore was released in Europe.

@skinky: EVO is such a great weird game it's and action RPG side scroller where instead of leveling you invest in mutations to evolve yourself from fish all the way up and beyond humans it's super nuts

I was shocked to see FF1 and even Super C on the NES classic. I would love to see Chrono Trigger, Mana, and FF2 and 3 on there but I don't want to hold my breath on that. And also Nintendo still hasn't gotten SFX Chip emulation down.... I'd be happy with a HDMI 1080p 2 player Tetris Attack, that's it.

That list looks just about right except for the severe lack of Secret of Mana. I'd also pick Mega Man X2, and X3 and Final Fantasy 2/IV over some of those, but not necessarily because it's the right idea but because I love those games.

Assuming just titles that got a release outside Japan.

    Super Mario World

    Super Mario Kart

    Super Metroid

    Super Mario RPG

    Final Fantasy 2/4

    Final Fantasy 3/6

    Chrono Trigger

    Secret of Mana

    Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo

    NHL 94

    International Superstar Soccer

Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past

    Donkey Kong Country

    Donkey Kong Country 2

    Donkey Kong Country 3

    Megaman X

    Harvest Moon

    Aero Fighters

    Breath of Fire

    Breath of Fire 2

    Lufia

    Lufia 2

    Super Castlevania IV

    Bust a Move

    Final Fight

    Gradious 3

    Super Punch Out

The Magical Quest Starring Mickey Mouse

Honestly I cannot think of 30 games and some of these I've barely played. I guess I can put Megaman X 2 and 3 there to get to 30 but I've not played them just X1.

Play 2 and 3! They're totally worth it. I could take or leave 4, 5 and 6 though.

FF III would be enough for me, but I would certainly choose Secret of Mana. Maybe X2 but not X3. Have to draw the line somewhere. Some other notable missing games for me personally:

Tetris Attack, Kirby's Dream Course, Illusion of Gaia, Kirby's Avalanche, Sim City, Super Punch Out, and Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. Come at me, Jeff!

For anyone feeling nostalgic for arguably the best console ever, I highly recommend this video:

    30. Secret of Mana (Same note again)

Some notable omissions include F-Zero (I have zero love for the franchise aside from Cap Falcon in Smash Bros.), Super Mario World 2 (Because Mr Gerstmann (and a fellow Jeff) is right in that instance), and Mario Paint (because there's no way Nintendo will include a USB port for a mouse or make a compatible one).

It's staggering how loaded the SNES library is with great games. So many favorites:

    1. Family Feud (quite possibly the greatest party game ever)
    2. Super Mario All-Stars & World (why not condense, right?!)
    3. Super Mario world 2: Yoshi's Island
    4. Super Metroid
    5. Chrono Trigger
    6. Unircacers
    7. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
    8. Final Fantasy III (VI in Japan)
    9. Secret of Mana
    10. Stunt Face FX
    11. Earthbound
    12. Actraiser
    13. Donkey Kong Country
    14. Donkey Kong Country 2
    15. Donkey Kong Country 3 (probably excessive to have all three, but they're all wonderful games)
    16. Mortal Kombat 2
    17. Super Mario Kart
    18. Super Punch Out!
    19. Tecmo Super Bowl (any one of the three--still can't believe they opted for Tecmo Bowl for NES instead of Super, such a shame)
    20. Kirby Superstar
    21. The Lost Vikings
    22. Aladdin
    23. Star Fox
    24. Zombies At My Neighbors
    25. Super Mario RPG
    26. Jurassic Park 2 (one of those random games we had growing up that was surprisingly fun)
    27. Earthworm Jim

If it has a multitap to support four players, then this list would not be complete without:
    28. WWF Raw
    29. Super Bomberman 2
    30. NBA Jam: Tournament Edition

I would buy that alone for local four-player Bomberman. Ok maybe not that alone, but that's a huge selling point for me personally.

    • Secret of Mana
    • Super Metroid
    • Link to the Past
    • Metal Warriors
    • Super Bomberman 2
    • Super Mario World
    • Final Fantasy IV
    • Final Fantasy VI
    • Actraiser
    • Super Castlevania IV
    • Legend of the Mystical Ninja (why not)
    • Star Fox
    • Mario Kart (though it is low on my list of fave Mario Karts)
    • Super Street Fighter II Turbo
    • Tetris 2
    • Pilotwings
    • Sim City
    • F-Zero
    • Donkey Kong Country (only one i really spent time with though I got 2 and didn't really play it)
    • Contra 3
    • Super Ghouls & Ghosts (though it was dick hard and frustrated me to no end, it's still a bit of a nostalgia thing for me)
    • Sim Earth (b/c it was fun letting it run overnight and wake up to an apocalyptic wasteland ruled only by robots and some microorganisms at the poles)

not quite 30 i think but an honest list for me. there's quite a few big names that i've never played personally (Super Mario RPG, Earthbound, Chrono Trigger )

Some real solid lists here. In no particular order:

    1. Super Mario World
    2. Mario Paint
    3. SimCity SNES
    4. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time
    5. Top Gear 3000
    6. Mario Kart
    7. StarFox
    8. Super Mario All Stars
    9. Jurassic Park
    10. NBA Jam: TE
    11. Super Empire Strikes Back
    12. Super Return of the Jedi

Well, those are most of the ones I remember playing on SNES.

All Stars is important, not just for collecting 1-3 and giving us Lost Levels, but for the unique changes (updates?) to 1-3, especially the audio. The All Stars music for SMB2 is how I'll always remember it.

As long as it has F-Zero i'm in.

Hoping if they ever do make one that they use the Super Famicom / Rest of the World design not that monstrosity that was released in the US.

Amazingly, I got just about half right, 11 out of 21 (honestly, 10 out of 20, I really didn't think they'd throw in Star Fox 2 in a million years). Granted, a lot of my picks didn't get on there because of licensing (the TMNT, Star Wars, and Power Ranger games) and because there weren't 30, but a mere 20 + 1 unreleased one that, again, I am amazed they are finally putting out. Obviously, Chrono Trigger and Uniracers are major omissions, but all in all, Nintendo made a pretty good stab at this.

For completeness, here's Nintendo's list. The bolded ones are on my list, the italic ones are in my omissions list above, the ones that are neither have reasons why I didn't include them.

    1. Contra III: The Alien Wars (Never was a Contra guy, to be honest)
    2. Donkey Kong Country
    3. EarthBound (I've played ROMs of this in the past and it didn't grab me)
    4. Final Fantasy III (VI in Japan)
    5. F-ZERO
    6. Kirby Super Star (Forgot this game existed)
    7. Kirby’s Dream Course
    8. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
    9. Mega Man X (Similar to Contra, never was into Mega Man)
    10. Secret of Mana
    11. Star Fox
    12. Star Fox 2
    13. Street Fighter® II Turbo: Hyper Fighting (Because, honestly, don't we all own enough copies of SFII at this point? I'd rather Mortal Kombat II, but I realize why Nintendo wouldn't put that on a console, hence my above pick of TMNT: Tournament Fighters)
    14. Super Castlevania IV (An unimpressive Castlevania game)
    15. Super Ghouls ’n Ghosts (Hate these games. Like seriously hate them. So many lost quarters...)
    16. Super Mario Kart
    17. Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
    18. Super Mario World
    19. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island (God fucking damnit, Dan is going to be gloating about this shit for YEARS...)
    20. Super Metroid
    21. Super Punch-Out!! (Also forgot this existed)

How about y'all? How close were your Nintendo predictions?
