Due to some unfortunate recent circumstances, I have no internet at home, but I'm psyched to play this. Does it work offline, or do you have to be online? If it works offline, how crucial is the online experience? Is it not worth it if I can't see the bloodstains, or whatever?

I didn't get to spend much time with it last night, but it seems like it works the exact same way as Dark Souls in that you can play it offline but you won't see any bloodstains or be able to summon help. So I think its doable, but there are a lot of mechanics designed for online play (bloostains, summoning revenants from bloodstains, twilight missions, etc.), so you might be missing out on quite a lot.

@lawgamer: Yeah, from what i heard it seems more substantial than Dark Souls. I didn't feel like you'd miss that much playing those offline (I never had any patience for the multiplayer parts, and the messages on the ground aren't THAT funny), but there might be a difference here.

The player ghosts have a chance to drop some of the stuff they're wearing, so you lose out on some potential loot. But you aren't missing out on a whole lot
