Just a heads up, Oculus are starting their press conference right now.
I'm expecting more details about the consumer version. Let's hope there are some awesome reveals.

I'll be interested to see if they show off any first party software. The tech looks cool, but we need something good to use if for.
Edit: Given the response I've seen so far, I suppose I'm in the extreme minority in saying I thought the stuff they showed looked pretty neat.
That virtual lounge is incredibly dumb. Why would you want to put on a VR headset just so you can see a virtual lounge and have a smaller game screen?
@gaff: The Hololens isn't virtual reality, it is augmented reality. Instead of being virtually placed into a world, like with VR, AR changes what you normally see.
@beachthunder: A good warm up for E3. It's been too long.
So I can sit in a fake room and play streamed Xbox One games on a fake wall? …? Is that… what?

@szlifier: Yeah, I had to do a double take when they announced the Xbox One Controller... and then Phil Spencer walks on stage.
Somewhere, the Hololens team is polishing up their resumes.
Hololens is completely different it's AR. Also i believe the Hololens team is part of their R&D team, which means it's there job to just make cool stuff and see if there is a practical application, if not back to the drawing board, they don't get fired. I worked in R&D for a couple years.
Twitch chat...jesus.
I feel unclean.
I'm glad I'm not watching this, because reading people's incredulous reactions is much more entertaining.
Twitch chat...jesus.

There's no GB chat, but there's no Twitch chat either...
The press conference has so far been pretty bad. Lot of the games shown seem like tech demos and the presenters seem a bit muted considering that they have been working on Oculus Rift for years now. Also the fact that the controller seems to be a standard xbox controller doesnt instill confidence.
Best quote of the conference:
"Oculus Rift is more real than real"
"Rest it on my lap."
-Palmer Luckey, 2015
EDIT: I guess I should add something constructive:
I am not interested in VR at all but I am very interested to see what they do with it. There's an interesting line up of companies working with Oculus so far.
EDIT2: Q1 2016 seems way too late. I wonder if someone might beat them to market and steal their thunder (or beat them on price?). Also, press conferences are pretty lousy.
It looks like they split a xbox controller in half and added a bunch of sensors to it. Not a bad way of doing it really.
If thats the final design of the helmet, they aint selling this to the mainstream till its $30 on a Target end-cap like those 3D cellphone viewfinders
