You can now get the Oculus Rift Headset and Touch Controller bundle for $600, down from $800. The Touch controllers will also now be sold for $100, down from $200. The headset itself is now down to $500, although the option of buying just the headset without the Touch Controllers bundled alongside may be phased out.
$600 is still a lot, but a $200 cut is significant. I'm not sure why they are doing this now. It seems like an odd time of year to do it. All I can think of is the financial year ending somewhat soon. Still, it's hopefully a good move for VR in general as it makes it slightly easier for these to end up in people's homes.
Does this make anyone more tempted to pick one up?
