A Game That I Grew to Love
I remember when I first purchased this game I was hoping that it would be a real action fest that would be similar to the idea of the Battlefield before even the real Battlefield 1942 even came out with its large battlefield and the ability to drive many types of vehicles like GTA was. I got the 2nd half right, take note that when they mean its a simulator shooter game they are not kidding around. This game was so hard for me to survive that I was really off put by its difficulty at first where a bullet to the arm could mean life or death on the battlefield. However that very same reason urged me on to continue the game to beat it in a defiance that the game was too hard for me.
Take note that this game is not for the impatient or arcade-ish shooter gamers out there like Halo or Gears of War players. The game pushes the idea of the random bullet fire coming from both friendly fire and enemy fire to ultimately teach the player to act more tactically and to understand when to or not to engage the enemy. In terms of a realistic shooter it is a great one which unlike the Ghost Recon games, which I found to have tried to increase realism too artificially, actually feels right for a gritty realistic game.
The plot of the game is somewhat average though it does build a climax around the end. It was enough to put my interest in proceeding on with the game to find out what happens next. There are some bugs that come with the game like clipping and if you reload your weapon in a certain manner can cause you to have unlimited ammo. However these are only a slight blemish over a great game that was revolutionary at its time. I can suggest this game to any gamer that are tired of the "Call of Duty" and the "Halo" games out in the market these days to trade in for a more realistic gameplay can try out this game.
A worthy thing to note is that the modding community is very strong for this game which as I speak as of now, have myriad amounts of vehicles to add into the game like ATVs and helicopters and such in it. After completing the campaign, you can also make your own mission with the mission editor to make some fun for yourself. I hope this review will be helpful for you. Give some feedback if you think this review can be improved on whatever aspect, still new a this. :)
