It means that people who wanted Co-Op in the first game now have to buy a new full game to have that feature?

I was disappointed that the first game didn't have any sort of multiplayer feature. That was probably what kept me from buying the game. This is the sort of game that looks like it would be really fun to play wih friends.

So they missed the opportunity to call it Orcs Must Die Harder?

@dcgc: How dare they! They specifically made OMD2 on the disc of the first game during development, and are now making us, the rightful owners of the past, present and future of the series, pay again.

They should have just re-made the first game from the ground up with co-op in mind, free naturally.

Seriously though, OMD was fantastic, a lot better than the concepts would suggest. It was among my favourite games last year, for the single-player alone. I still don't think it needs co-op but it's a nice addition that could be interesting in practice. The people who were asking for co-op and expected it to just happen were delusional, that's not how game development works.

I wish that more of the people of the "I bought one game I don't need to buy another" mindset were more literal and stopped buying games, they bug me.

So much people asked for co-op on the OMD forums

Wow, I thought OMD was just going to be a one-off game. Cool! But, can the characters be customized this time around (if they have the resources for a sequel and co-op, surely they have enough to at least let us modify characters)? Runic learned their lesson, hopefully these guys can.

It's actually rather scary how much DD and OMD had in common in the first place but OMD has much more fun and better action than DD so this is something I am excited about.
