Ori and the Will of the Wisps - Review. 0

It's been some five years since Moon Studios bought us the splendid platformer of Ori and the Blind Forest in 2015. In those five years the Austrian studio has been hard at work on it's anticipated sequel and it's finally here. But does Ori's latest adventure manage to deliver us yet another magical experience or does he fall flat on his face?Due to a series of unfortunate events, Ori finds himself in unfamiliar lands as he ventures forth in search of a lost friend. Quickly it becomes clear tha...

Ori and the Will of the Wisps - Review 0

It's been about five years since Moon Studios released a stunning action-platformer that captured the heart, and tears, of many fans. However, in that time, the team honed their skills and released yet another gorgeous, heart-wrenching tale that had me smiling from ear-to-ear practically the entire time and left completely devastated in others. Ori and the Will of the Wisps take everything that worked in the first installment and enhances it in all the right ways and adds in a plethora of exciti...

My Ori and the Will of the Wisps Review 0

It has been 5 years since I had the privilege to play Ori and the Blind Forrest on the Xbox One. Ori was a simple seeming 2D Metroidvania style plat-former with lush and gorgeous visuals, a rich sound track and some of the tightest and best controls of a modern console game. Ori and the Blind Forrest ended up being one of my 2 favorite games of this generation (along with Cuphead) and when its sequel was announced a few years ago I was understandably excited and thrilled. Like the first game, O...

    A near perfect sequel. 0

I was a huge fan of Ori and the Blind Forest. The graphics, story, music, and traversal were all top notch. My main issue with it though was the simplistic combat. Ori and the Will of the Wisps has not only fixed the combat, but created a system that is at the top of the genre. The graphics have been massively improved as well, the engine has shifted from 2d pixel models (of impeccable quality) to even better looking 3d models which allows for more dynamic camera movements during cutscenes. The ...

A charming successor, with minor blemishes in its’ new combat and story structure 0

Ori and the Will of the Wisps is the direct sequel to Ori and the Blind Forest. The game oozes with even better art, music and cutscenes compared to the original. Will of the Wisps is also longer than its predecessor. The new game is filled with side quests, time challenges and puzzles to solve. There are a few blemishes to Will of the Wisps such as its’ new combat system and story. It is also not a substantially different game than Blind Forest, so don’t expect something completely...
