You can create new weapons and armor to assist you through the game most of them having the same attack power but having very different effects, me for example i sued the evil eye helmet that  gives me 2 minion souls for every 1 you pick up,
The elemental armor that gives protection from all elements.
And the Scortcher, A large flame sword that starts shrubs and targets on fire when a successful blow is struck.
Thats not the last armor set its just what i had, The next set up is very very hard to get. Takes a lot of dark stones and a shit ton of money, That you will most likley like i did spen on making your first mistress happy,.... plus i bought a lot of shiny weapons, Thats pretty much where my money went.

The gameplay is still pretty much unchanged save for the magic system and the way your minions fight, Some of the minions gained new skills like the blues can blink and walk right past people and the other three minions can now get mounts that give them altered combat skills.
Plus did i mention you get to club baby seals without PETA getting all worked up, plus they give you brown souls and if your anything like me brows are your bread and butter.

Combat mainly consists of your minions trying to break empire defences and you beating the living shit out of everyone and his or her mother.
it took me till the end of the game to figure this out. if you press attack and your magic button at the same time you do a circle slash, I know its simple but it can really put some hurt of empire asses.
Now i wont ruin the story but i will give a short rundown on what each mount brings to the table.

Wolves: Your browns can mount them and if you move the analog stick you can make them charge and break empire shield baricades. Note: There combat effectivness drops on wolfback but the charge at times makes up for that.

Spiders: Your greens mount giant spiders well giant as in they go up to your knee. They can climb on some walls and get air attacks on people and web them to the floor that prevents them from fighting back.

Salamanders: The reds get these, If you move your analog sticl your reds will roll around with them and can do roll by fireballings, Its pretty beast when you see a group of empire soldiers running around on fire screaming bloody murder.

Lastly the downfalls of this game. The length diference in overlord 1 vs 2 is expoential.
Overlord 1 took me a good 60 plus hours and i remember vividly the monsters and storyline' Overlord II on the other hand has taken me just over 11 hours and there arent that many monsters, You mainly fight Greek roman style soldiers.
Thats about all i can think for the downside.
Oh one more plus i can think of before i wrap this up.The music in both games is great but Overlord II has one of the best soundtracks i've ever heard. Thats my oppinion and nobody has to agree but i put it out there.
Go and buy this masterpeice of a breed of game that is nslowly fading due to people who buy every game that comes out, Just for the sake of having it.
Support creativity and a quorky and fantastic view of fantasy.

O Checkpoint, where art thou? 0

Overlord II is a unique game in the FPS dominated landscape that is PS3 games library. Too bad that its flaws overshadow the uniqueness, and make this game a chore – if not torment – to play.To start with, the framerate on PS3 is rock solid 10 frames per second. At least it seems so. I'm not typically one to complain or even notice framerate problems, but this was my first note of Overlord. You get used to it, eventually, but playing is never smooth. And not only because of this.Another problem ...
