Paper Mario: Color Splash is a 3D fantasy turn-based RPG developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo for the Wii U in North America and Europe on October 7, 2016, with a Japanese release on October 13, 2016. It is the last Mario game released for the platform.

The fifth main game in the Paper Mario series, Color Splash is similar to its predecessor in combining the series's unique papercraft aesthetic with a decorative material (which for this game is paint) that's used as a core mechanic for both the gameplay and story.

The game takes place in Prism Island, which is becoming devoid of color from being drained by Bowser's forces. With the help of sentient paint bucket Huey, Mario must find the six Big Paint Stars scattered throughout the island (each one guarded by a Koopaling) and restore the island of its colors. Also, Princess Peach is kidnapped again.

    Gameplay

Calling back to the partner-system of older entries in the series, Paper Mario can now use enemy cards to summon enemy characters that then attack his opponents.
