This is great news. I loved the Thousand Year Door and what little I played of the original seemed pretty good too!

About time they made another traditional Paper Mario game.

This is my favorite announcement of E3, no fooling. 
God just look at it.

I'm still hoping they make that Paper Luigi game one day. You don't get to play as a completely incompetent hero very often.

This is probably the one game that will make me pull the trigger on buying the 3DS. The rest of the announced games sound really good (Star Fox 64 3D, especially), but I've been waiting for a new (traditional) Paper Mario game since 2004.

Thousand-Year Door is probably my favorite game ever and I really liked the first one too. Seriously, IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME. This might also be the game that gets me to buy a 3DS. I don't know what 3D effects I would want from a game that's about flat paper =P, but I'm sure they will think of something. Also, I think some touch screen attack commands will freshen it up a little bit. 

I think my heart just stopped.

Hello there, I just have a question that maybe someone here might know. Is this Paper Mario game looking like a remake to any of you? I know for a fact the Whomp screen, and the card-place has not appeared in any other Paper Marios, but are there any thoughts, as this could become Paper Mario 64 DS? Please, let me know. Thank you!

Not to mention the Mario sprite is the one from TTYD/SPM and not the one from Paper Mario 64.
 
I always liked the N64 design better though. More stylistic, less black lines.

Who do I have to pay to get this now?

Yeah, as someone who has probably played through Paper Mario over 10 times, I can say that this all looks new. 
 
Also, I dunno if it looks very good. It looks a little plain what with every shot being of a flat surface except for the card one. Honestly, sort of reminds me of Mario Party DS. (What I saw of Mario Party DS, I didn't buy it) Plus Super was really a let down. 
 
Still, if anyone can do it it's Intelligent Systems. Um, if they're doing it I guess.

I am so excited for this! I loved the Paper Mario games for N64 and GC (Super Paper Mario doesn't count), and was waiting for this announcement. I was hoping it would come to Wii, but after thinking about the art style, and looking at some 3DS screenshots, Paper Mario would be a perfect fit for the 3DS. I can't wait for this game!

All right! As much as I liked Super Paper Mario, the first two were a lot better. Now let's just hope the story/writing is as good.  
 
Also, nice to see a chain chomp working on the side of good for once.

Hell yes, it's an actual RPG as opposed to the weirdness that was Super Paper Mario.  The only Paper Mario game I've not played is the original for the N64.  I should rectify that, soon.

Ooh this could look freaking awesome on the 3DS. I can't wait for this!
