He was with 1up.com for a while then when they cut 2/3rds of the staff he moved to the MTV Multiplayer blog and made that a relevant site till MTV stopped doing game stuff. Then he was with News Editor for G4 when their web stuff still had relevance. He broke the Infinity Ward story. He moved on to the relaunched EGM and is now with Giant Bomb.

Yeah, he also investigates stories and does the legwork, he'll be working in the office as a full-time employee, and he's got interesting thoughts and a funny sense of humor so he'll probably fit in well with the rest of the crew. His work as a full-time editor and reporter will also free up more time for the main 4 to work on Reviews and Videos, as Jeff has already claimed. This can only mean good things for Giant Bomb.

I'd never seen it before today, but someone linked to it in comments under Jeff's article introducing Patrick. It's ..... quite something - he clearly lacks any inhibitions which is a good fit for WM. At 28:30 you could easily be misled into thinking that's a woman you're looking at.
Obscure reference, but personally Patrick really reminds of a popular UK Youtube vlogger called Nerimon (Alex Day). It's fairly uncanny aside from the mound of hair not being curly.
