PAX Prime 2014
Concept »
The eleventh PAX Prime took place August 29-September 1, 2014 at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle, Washington.
It's PAX Prime And We've Got Something For Everyone!
@deathfromace: I wear XL, and the XL on the GB store fits me like normal XLs do.

Thank you. Now i just have to wait for them to get back to me about my discount code I lost a year ago.
Sounds like a lot of fun for us, and a lot of work for you guys... thanks for doing what you do! Enjoy your well-deserved vacation @rorie!
As a Long Islander (GBEeast represent) I can't make it to PAX but I know it'll be a blast for those lucky enough. One day... one day.
@rorie: Question! Have you guys ever considered longsleeves/crewneck sweaters? I know you guys have hoodies, but a non hooded crewneck fleece of this would be top, if it's not too expensive on y'alls end. Either way, I'm ordering this one for sure for sure!

I would also like to put my request in for ski masks that have a felt, or yarn fuse on the top, or one of those dumb frog winter hats that i always see people wear at pax east.
@rorie I'll just agree with everyone else in saying that the whole "only new subscribers" deal kind of sucks. I bought two full years back during the 2012 BBLSL and I'm due for renewal, but at full price I'm either going to have to go monthly or just cancel altogether until another deal rolls around. The store voucher isn't worth much when the last two shirts I bought are practically falling apart after being worn only a few times.
Why don't you guys ever sell the normal shirts with the normal logo? I would give you US currency in exchange for that fabric.
"Unfortunately there is no Shipping Rate available for your destination and/or weight of your cart."
You don't ship to Finland anymore, or is the store broken?
Either way I guess I won't be ordering that shirt yet.
Also, you should bring the wizard shit back.
As a silver member am I not qualified for the membership sale? Do I have to make a new account in order to buy a membership? All I see is a $50 upgrade option and I am not spending an extra $20 shipping (I do not live the US) for a T-shirt I am not going to wear.
I signed up for Premium a week ago. Decided to go for the full year. Sucks that I missed out on the discounted premium pricing.
I did not receive an email for a discount code on the t-shirt. Where do I go to look for that on the account page?
@rorie It says the new shirt doesn't ship to Canada. What's up with that?

I'm with this and trying to craft a polite but informed letter about it to Rorie since that is what he asked for in this article. I'm personally hugely against the cable company style deals only for new customers or lapsed existing customers.
@rorie Hey Rorie, usually when these Pax posts happens in the past, it also included the panels that the GB people are in at PAX also AKA The Royal Rumble, Patricks internet panel, 404 anding It that Alex is in, and that hunger games thing jeff and dan are in. Did not know if you left them out on purpose or not and I also know you are on vacation so sorry for bugging you
It would be very nice if current premium members could get in on this $35 deal. I already have a few GB shirts and don't really need anymore.
Sasquatch Theater is not being streamed.
But there will be an archive up shortly after everyone is home from PAX still or...?
Were party invites supposed to go to all premium members, or some subset of premium members, or what? Just wondering if I need to do something to get an invite next time, or if it was luck 'o' the draw, or maybe invites just went to select people on some other criteria.
Only time I've been to the convention center was last year (or was it two years ago?) It was for comicon we have here, and I didn't even know it was the same place that PAX is held at the time, though I had thought it may have been. Whenever PAX goes on there, it all feels so far away, when it's only about 20 minutes from where I live. I haven't been to PAX, and not going this year as everyone I know is working probably including me; plus, the tickets always go super fast. Well, hopefully the lines are too long...
"If you’re a current subscriber, you’ll still have the usual suite of upgrade/downgrade options for your membership."
What does this mean?
It means the discount is only for new subscribers.
Tees are cool, but we need more "sweaties".
I finally subscribed to a yearly. Ryan celebrated me. Thanks, Ryan.
That's really bad that only new subscribers can get the discount. I also seriously can't fathom why you are still forcing people to pay for credit to the store even though some people straight up don't want it.
Look, I know Rorie is offering to let people email him, but honestly, I haven't been thrilled with the content this year so when given a choice between jumping through hoops or just running out my subscription I'm probably going to have to go for the latter at this point.
Don't get me wrong I understand the reasons, but I think it's insane to have a sale targeted at just new users like this because it just looks like you're leaving us users that have been here from the beginning out in the cold. Surely some thought should go to the users that have supported the site from the start as well?
The bottom line is I could accept paying $35 to add another year to my subscription even with the possibility that I might not enjoy all the content, but I can't accept paying $50 for another year while new users are getting discounts and while I'm still wasting money on a store voucher I will never use.
I understand that they're trying to grow, but I would've really liked that sale to apply for everyone. My month is about due, and the content lately has convinced me to keep my membership for a while.
Now that they are winding down some of the old shirt styles, I'm hoping that we're going to end up with some more new options in the near future.
I'd really, really like a low-key zip-up hoodie like the one TeamLiquid put out awhile back. Its a high quality hoodie (its a custom American Apparel triblend zipper hoodie, which is a great euro cut style hoodie), stylish, and it shows off their colors and logo in a really classy way. I have two of them (a XL and a XXL because I didn't know which would fit my very tall frame) and I love both of them. Would love a chance to wear something similar with a GiantBomb branding.
If I cancel my monthly sub, can I get the yearly for 35$? Or am I making this way more complicated than it actually is?
This seems not to be the case. I guess there is just no sale for people who support the site.
I don't know if they gain more than they lose from this, it seems like it is a poor decision not to let current members "upgrade". Especially us who can't really use any store credit because of shipping costs.
