I am getting a serious hit of shooter fatigue. Currently the games i have played recently on the pc are portal 2, borderlands(40hrs in like a week, due to a friend), amnesia(recently), metro2033(started it but lost interest due to above), left 4 dead 2. And a few other games on ps3, mostly shooter related. I am looking for a more light hearted game, i enjoy shooters but they were never the games i got excited over; i know they are just good. So, Something thats not a fps. I am willing to play something older, but i am hoping for good story and game play that is more platformy but good story takes precedence.

any non shooters?
Apparently he's over any first person game. Portal 2 is certainly not an FPS, so Minecraft would have the same problem. Portal 2 shoulda been his pallet cleanser, really." Go lose yourself in Minecraft. "
Are you sick of shooters or just first person games? Portal 2 and Amnesia are certainly not shooters, in fact, I probably would have recommended both of those games if I had just read the title. Anyway, I'm not quite sure what you're after, maybe something like VVVVVV? That's definitely not first person nor is it a shooter.
" Go lose yourself in Minecraft. "This is always a good way to lose your sanity, but it's kind of like losing your virginity, it'll either be traumatic or beautiful or just awkward.
Dragon Age: Origins is a pretty spectacular game, Trine is a bit rough but gorgeous and very enjoyable, Freelancer is old, but looks fine if you force AA and AF at crazy levels, and is a spectacular game. It is kind of a shooter, but you can play it as a trade sim if you want. It's fun to just fly around and explore for a while, at least.
You could always try a free WoW trial or something to that effect.
@BeachThunder: Hmmm, i forgot about VVVVVVV, that might do the trick. thanks for the suggestion.
@ryanwho: I own pyschonauts on my steam account. I tried playing it 8 months ago, even though it seems cool and i seriously wanted to play it....i just couldnt get that far.
@ryanwho: I do appologize for categorizing Portal 2 as a shooter, i was just saying that i had played it, I guess im just tired of the first person view.
@Axxol: LULZ
There's also Mount and Blade. The default camera is third person, but it does control a lot like a first person action game. But the style of the game makes it pretty different from the ones you list.
Please clarify if you're sick of WASD and mouse-aim style games in general, regardless of camera placement, or if it's just first person games.
What about driving games, no one gets shot (in most of these anyway). There are games like Test Drive Unlimited 2, Need for Speed Shift 2, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit and Burnout Paradise as just a few examples.
