*******Edit: These have been confirmed fake guys, sorry for the hubbub. Feel free to still use the thread for Nvidia Fermi discussion though********

Specs from Nvidia's upcoming GT300 DX11 series of cards have (finally)  been leaked:

    No Caption Provided

    No Caption Provided

    No Caption Provided
    Also, this:

    No Caption Provided

Credit goes to the guys at the Guru3D board.

If the GT200 series is anything to go by, it would appear that the single GPU variant outperforms ATI's strongest double GPU variant. This is quite exciting news for Nvidia enthusiasts!

Note: As with all leaked materials, take with a grain of salt. Although these have been posted already on established sites like Techpowerup and Guru3D, they have yet to be definitively proven as fake/real yet.

Interesting, interesting, however I'll probably still end up getting an ATI 5870 and crossfiring that bitch with my 4980.

If anything it would drive the prices lower for existing cards, that's how videocards are marketed.

    Yeah.

I usually buy about a $200 card.   And that is enough to max every game out there at high resolution.

I have two 4870's, but I'm only running one of them, so I may end up selling both and picking up a more powerful single card in the next few months, ala the GTX295. Yay for new cards and the imminent price drops.

Crazy.    Too bad there is really no future for PC upgrades, Like Jeff said on the Bombcast, PC technology is at a standstill.
I've got an 880GTS and it can still run pretty much anything out (save for Crysis) on high with decent frames.  I would like to get anew card sometime, but right now the cost VS the performance increase doesn't balance out.

Um, are you seeing the same benchmarks I am? There's a vast difference between some of these, and even the weakest card is much better than yours. Don't listen to what Jeff or almost any of the GB staff say about PCs. Of course if the games you play run good enough for you there's no reason to upgrade yet (and it shows that the popular dissing of computers thanks to "constant" upgrading is false) but to say they're at a standstill is pretty stupid, especially when we're gearing up for a brand new Direct X version which will bring a system refresh for many users once more games start utilising such technology, and when we're just out of the single core processor jump with many users having just bought new computers recently to get dual or quad core solution. If one has the money to spend then they will be put to use.

Of course you don't need 90 frames per second for these games but you want whatever you buy to be futureproof also so obviously older games will run better than they need to. The benchmarks for some reason have games that have decent performance, than something that doesn't run so well on past cards, like GTAIV (which is an unoptimised pos on PC). Of course the graphics card is only part of the equation, just owning one of these won't yield the same results for the user if his processor or other parts of the computer are outdated.

I also prolonged my last system (a P4 with a GeForce 4 and later X800 XL) as long as I possibly could as I didn't want to spend money often, saying I'm content with the semi decent performance I got (which was actually not great, playing at lower res and turning off things like AA/AF and usually shadows and draw distances on top for certain games), but that didn't make me oblivious to what playing games at higher settings with better frame rates would offer me in order to claim that technology improvement is at a standstill or something outrageous like that.

There is, just not your main studios anymore.  More of the niche titles out there are pushing PC graphics forward now.   Shattered Horizons, STALKER CoP for instance require good rigs to run.  And Crysis 2 will push the standard forward again.  I don't think it's at a standstill.  But most games out there aren't pushing the boundaries like they once were.

Irregardless, it's not all about the graphics for me.  Game play is vastly more important.

Although I'm as excited by new videocard tech as anybody else, I'm left wondering what could anybody possibly be wanting this over a 200 series card for? There has yet to be a PC game that surpasses Crysis' visual fidelity and tech requirements, and the 8800's were just fine with that game. 9800's were even better, and 200 series slays it dead.

Shattered Horizon I guess I agree.  But STALKER CoP is a pretty impressive looking game to me.  It's no Crysis though.   Regarding DX11 this is just the beginning of the cycle.  We just don't have the information at the moment to know if this will be a quasi flop like DX10.  I also have a 260 core 216 and will wait as well.  But I will keep my eye on DX11 anyway.  Who knows, Tesselation might be the next big thing.

To me CoP looks far worse than SH.  I only really like the shadows in CoP, and the original STALKER had them.  I've said it before but Stalker Complete 2009 looks far far better than CoP to me.

DX10 & DX11 will or won't be flops based on development.  As far as it goes both have valuable new techniques for games.  Will developers use them, especially how on the 'edge' high end game development these days is as far as costs?  I just doubt it.

I'll keep my 9800GX2 for now thanks. MAYBE if AvP runs like crap on my rig (which I really don't see happening) then I might think about getting a GTX 295, assuming there's a mad price drop down to the $200-300 level.

If that's true, then that's pretty embarassing for Nvidia. A company already playing catchup with Direct X 11 releases will see themselves way, way behind when AMD take the opportunity to lower card prices and release their graphics card refreshes, which are probably just around the corner. Since performance is already only marginally better, and you'd best believe price will be through the roof, as always, AMD will continue to hold the price/performance market.

    Ouch.

Thats cool. I have no real knowledge on Video Cards, but this sounds like a winner. I have an Nvidia Geforce someshit or other, i dunno. See, I'm an expert. 145 fps seems good i guess?

EDIT: Apparently i can't spell Nvidia right... twice.

I'm gunna worry about this stuff when Diablo III comes-out, only because I have to build another computer so both my girlfriend and I can play together.

By then, I'll probably be buying a GTX 380 for like $150 :p

Mmmm "leaked" benchmarks are almost always early market hype.  Will wait for the true results.  Still need this to launch before I make a call on a DX11 card.  Also those frame rate results for the 5870 look a little on the low side.

Man navida needs to release this card already. I have everything ready for a new computer except the graphics card.  Hurry the hell up I want that card.

Nvidia's new shit has to really beat ATi's stuff for me to make the switch. Marginal better scores and frames, I can live with the lost.

@septim: Yeah, I've been pretty much maxing out stuff on my 8800GT for almost 3 years now. But I guess you can always use these to hit 60 in unoptimized stuff like Saboteur :).

It's called Hybrid SLI/Crossfire.  It's not as commonly supported by MOBO's

ENVYdia shopped the benchmark charts in a hopeless effort to try give their 1,7%-ridden woodscrew GPU a better face.

EDIT: it was some faggot troll who shoopped the pictures and ENVYdia didn't have anything to do with it, but still:
    NVIDIA STATUS
    [X] TOLD
    [] NOT TOLD
