Gonna pull the trigger this week - any problems I'm not seeing?

Much like the title reads, I'm going to start purchasing the parts this week most likely...

Unless you guys see something thats glaring or you know of something where you can get a bit more bang for the buck.

I'm obviously missing the monitor(s), keyboard/mice, etc., but this is the core, and thought I'd get an opinion on it all before spending monies. Please and thank you!

If the deal's still available, you can get a pretty big student discount on the Windows 7 copy you chose. I paid my friend something like $50 for it. Oh, and if you're looking for a monitor, this Samsung monitor is pretty great, gotta love the lack of input lag.

I've never had good luck with USB wi-fi adapters, even for 802.11N. Might wanna go for a PCI card, they're about the same price.

Look into third-party coolers for your CPU. I just can't trust those stock plastic fans that come with the CPU, and a decent heat sink is like $50 extra, worth it to protect your investment imo.

I agree with you on that point but only if the OP plans on overclocking. If you're just going to use it out of the box and not tinker with anything, I would say the fan that comes with it should be fine.

Yea, I went with the Tested vid where they built Jeff's pc, where they basically said the same thing. I'm not planning on OCing at the moment, prolly in about a year or so I'm going to start  dabbling with some video editing.

Yea, I'm using a PCI bit right now, it's working like a charm (ignoring the fact that our internet is crap) so I may stick with another PCI bit.

@OwnlyUzinWonHan: Yea, I'm going to stop by the University after work tomorrow, check the prices of it. And for the monitor, I'm going to be looking for either a 24in or a 27in, 1920*1080 resolution. Really not looking to spend 1200$ on a monitor, but still won't hurt for the bigger size of a 27incher.

You should think about getting an SSD ... a 60GB one just for windows should do. I did that for my current PC and I would never build one without it again. Constants 30 seconds boot-time.

@Matthew: Why have you picked WIndows 7 Professional?

Professional offer 3 features that are not available in Premium, those feaures are:

    1. Windows Virtual PC - Allows you to run business programs in Windows XP Mode
    2. Domain Join - for connecting to a Server based business network
    3. Enhance Back up Restore features
If you don't need any of those features then you would be better off with the Premium version, it will save you some money if you do this. Also if you only want or need the Backup feature it would be cheaper to get Premium and just buy a good back up solution like Acronis for example. The money you save by getting Premium might be enough to pay for a graphics card upgrade.

Other than that it is a good selection of hardware, personally I wouldn't get 2 optical drives when a single combo drive would do everything I need but I know many people that prefer 2 drives.

-windows professional is not something you need, go with windows 7 64bit OEM. Sure encryption is nice, along with those other features, but for a gamer, you just need windows 7 64bit OEM.

-wrong hardrive, it's the sata 3 6 gig per second edition, not the 3gig per second version, change it.

-evga will give you more of a waranty than msi http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130657&cm_re=evga_ds-_-14-130-657-_-Product
