Hi, I want a computer that can run games like the Sims 2 (and eventually 3), Spore and other ones.  I also want a computer that is fast on the internet and one I can use for homework.  So, what are some good computers?

Prices...hmm, well nothing over $1000, but the lower the better I guess so I can get it sooner.

The Voodoo Firebird is 1300$ I think (or something near that).

It is not quite and improvement over BlackBird, more like a version less focused on gaming-only, which should satisfy your needs.

It looks awesome, but it's actually $1800, before buying extra things, so that's way out of my price range. >_<

Oops, sorry. I advise browsing through the hp website, they are my brand of choice for Desktops and one of their PC's is sure to please your needs.

Try Tigerdirect.com or Newegg.com they have a ton of choices for computers, if you know a friend who can help you build one you can save a good amount of money.

For what you're asking for that's pretty easy to find. I would honestly say building your own is the easiest way, but it seems you're very new to the whole thing, so even buying a brand named computer to just play the Sim's 2 and 3/Spore, which can be played on even the simplest of systems really, wouldn't be hard at all. For what you're asking for, it won't even near 1000$, check newegg I'd say.

My friend built a computer that would go for around $800 in Best Buy himself for around $160. Try getting RAM, a motherboard, and a processor separately if you can. If not just visit Best Buy and see what they have.

I think that he/she is not of the kind of building computers.

And I think we both agree that no one could build a Blackbird 002, so some computers are worth their money (you never said otherwise, but just trying to make a point here).
